30 Gigawatts - That is the staggering scale of India’s Khavda Renewable Energy Park currently rising out of the saline deserts of Gujarat.

Covering over 726 square kilometers - a landmass five times the size of Paris or compared to entire Singapore - this hybrid facility is officially the largest single-location renewable energy project in human history.

The project is moving at a global record-setting pace for greenfield utility expansion, with developers executing and connecting more than 5 GW of new solar and wind capacity within a single twelve-month calendar frame.

Roughly 31% to 33% of the total capacity is already complete. Out of the final 30 GW target, nearly 10 GW is fully operational and actively feeding green energy into India's national power grid.

The site's integrated energy infrastructure has scaled rapidly, with 3.37 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of operational Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) already deployed by mid-2026 to combat energy intermittency.

Harnessing both intense solar PV arrays and high-velocity wind turbines to maximize grid stability around the clock.

Slated for full delivery by 2029–2030, it will generate enough clean power to sustain more than 16 million homes annually.

The finished infrastructure is projected to displace roughly 58 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions every single year.

As nations push to meet global climate targets, mega-projects of this scale demonstrate that transitioning away from traditional fossil fuels is no longer just a distant vision, it is an active and monumental reality.
