Concluded the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) Southern African sub-regional consultation to catalyse exchange of experiences, ideas, lessons and articulate the region’s priorities in terms of water security on 12 April 2024, Livingstone, Zambia.

Our team alongside GIZ SADC/Botswana , Ministry of Agriculture, Water & Land Reform , Cuvelai Watercourse Commission-CUVECOM , NamWater and NamPower
visited the Kunene Basin in 🇳🇦 and 🇦🇴 to understand the water resource management priorities for the basin.
Key water users include communities living along the river basin, established water storage dams, hydropower stations, irrigation schemes, etc. The information will be used for the development of the Integrated Water Resource Management Plan (IWRM) for the Kunene River Basin. The IWRM plan will be utilized to strengthen relationships and interventions amongst the two member states, Angola and Namibia
Furthermore, the IWRM plan will be used during the implementation of the project.

CUVECOM, GABHIC in collaboration with UNDP is conducting a series of stakeholders’ consultation meetings for The Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins (CUVKUN Project) between 19 – 27October 2021. The consultations are held in Cunene Province of Angola. Today we are in Xangongo.

CUVECOM, MAWLR in collaboration with UNDP successfully held a series of stakeholders’ consultation workshops for The Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins (CUVKUN Project) between 04 – 08 October 2021. The consultations were held in Tsumeb, Eenhana, Oshakati, Outpai and Opuwo.

CUVECOM, MAWLR in collaboration with UNDP held a successful stakeholders consultations for The Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins (CUVKUN Project) in Tsumeb today 04 October 2021. The consultation was attended by the Tsumeb Sub Basin stakeholders.
Tuesday 05th October 2021, we will be in Niipele Sub Basin.
