UPCOMING WATER DISCONNECTION

The Usakos Town Council hereby informs residents that water disconnections for overdue municipal accounts will commence from Tuesday, 16 June 2026.

The affected areas include:

Town | Hakhaseb | Erongosig | Saamstaan | Plots

Disconnections will be carried out during normal working days only, from 16 June 2026 to 19 June 2026.

Residents are strongly encouraged to settle their outstanding municipal accounts or make payment arrangements with Council before the disconnection date to avoid service interruption.

Payments may be made directly into the Usakos Town Council bank account. Residents are reminded to use their municipal account number as the payment reference.

STATE OF THE REGION ADDRESS (SORA) 2026

The Usakos Town Council encourages residents, stakeholders, community leaders, businesses, and development partners to attend the upcoming State of the Region Address (SORA) to be delivered by the Governor of the Erongo Region, Honourable Nathalia /Goagoses.

The annual address serves as an important platform to reflect on the progress made across the region, outline key developmental priorities, and share the vision for sustainable growth and prosperity for all communities within Erongo.

As a local authority committed to inclusive development and active citizen participation, Usakos Town Council welcomes this opportunity for residents to engage with the regional agenda and gain insight into initiatives that will shape the future of our region.

NOTICE TO BENEFICIARIES TO FINALISE LAND TRANSACTIONS

The Usakos Town Council hereby informs the underlisted beneficiaries to visit the Office of Building Control and Properties to finalise their land transactions.

Beneficiaries who have already paid the purchase price are kindly requested to bring along proof of payment.

The objective of this exercise is to promote property ownership and strengthen security of tenure within the Usakos community.

All beneficiaries are expected to visit the Office of Building Control and Properties no later than 10 July 2026.

Failure to do so will leave Council with no option but to use its own discretion in alienating the land to other interested parties.

NATIS PAYMENT METHODS

The Usakos Town Council wishes to inform all residents and road users that, effective 15 June 2026, the Usakos NATIS Office will no longer accept cash payments for licensing and vehicle registration services.

Clients are kindly requested to make use of EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) or Debit/Credit Card swiping facilities when making payments at the office.

Residents are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements prior to visiting the NATIS Office to ensure a smooth and efficient service experience.

We thank the community for their understanding and cooperation as we continue to improve service delivery.

๐Ÿ“ข USAKOS MSME STAKEHOLDER RESEARCH WORKSHOP SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED

The Usakos Town Council extends its sincere appreciation to Fin Fit Investments, with the support of Osino Resources, for facilitating a successful two-day MSME Stakeholder Research Workshop in Usakos.

The workshop was conducted over two days, with the first session held in Town and the second in Hakhaseb, bringing together local business owners, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on a wide range of SME-related topics.

Participants were afforded the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, opportunities, and recommendations regarding the local MSME environment. These valuable contributions will help inform ongoing research aimed at strengthening SME development and identifying practical interventions to support local businesses.

We sincerely thank the Fin Fit team for working alongside Council in this worthwhile initiative, as well as Osino Resources for their support in making the workshop possible. We also extend our gratitude to all participants who took the time to share their insights and experiences.

We look forward to sharing the findings of the research with the community and exploring opportunities to further strengthen entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and sustainable local economic development in Usakos.

CATERING SERVICES USAKOS MUSEUM

The Usakos Museum is seeking the services of a registered catering provider for an upcoming production workshop scheduled to take place from 18โ€“24 June 2026.

The successful service provider will be required to cater for approximately 35 participants over a five-day programme, including breakfasts, health breaks, lunches, and dinners as outlined in the workshop schedule.

Registered catering service providers are encouraged to submit their quotations before the closing date this FRIDAY 12th 2026.

This is an opportunity to showcase quality catering while contributing to an important upcoming initiative at the Usakos Museum.

MoU SIGNING | USAKOS TOWN COUNCIL & MUSEUMS ASSOCIATION OF NAMIBIA

The Usakos Town Council is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Museums Association of Namibia (MAN), marking an important step towards strengthening cooperation in heritage preservation, cultural development, and community upliftment.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to preserving the rich history and identity of Usakos, while supporting the continued development of the Usakos Museum as a centre of local history, learning, tourism, and community pride.

Through this collaboration, Council and MAN will work together to promote cultural heritage, strengthen institutional support, and create opportunities for residents, learners, researchers, and visitors to engage meaningfully with the history of Usakos.
