Today, the Erongo NAMPOL Women’s Network proudly celebrated 16 years of honoring the past and empowering the future of women in policing.
We were privileged to be joined by key stakeholders, including the Road Authority, Municipality Traffic, Correctional Services, and General Practitioner Dr. Mungunda.
The celebration took place in style at the Walvis Bay Lagoon, where participants came together through exercise and jogging, promoting both unity and wellness.

Today, the Namibian Police Force in the Erongo Region held an engagement meeting with taxi and bus drivers at the Mauta Manene Fire Brigade in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay.

The meeting was conducted in collaboration with Walvis Bay Municipality Traffic, NABTA, and Fire, Emergency and Protection Services.

The engagement focused on strengthening cooperation between law enforcement, municipal authorities, and public transport operators. Discussions centered on road safety, compliance with traffic regulations, and the shared responsibility of ensuring the safety of passengers and all road users.

Such engagements play an important role in promoting responsible driving, improving communication with transport operators, and maintaining safer roads in the Erongo Region.

The Regional Commander of the Erongo Region, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona, held an engagement meeting with farmers from the Omaruru District on Friday, 20 February 2026, to address growing concerns around rural safety and community policing.

The meeting, which took place in Omaruru, brought together local farmers, community leaders, and members of the Namibian Police Force for an open and constructive dialogue. Discussions focused primarily on stock theft, farm security, emergency response times, and strengthening cooperation between law enforcement and farming communities.

The National “Boots on the Ground” Operation in the Erongo Region was successfully concluded today. The operation was led by the Erongo Regional Commander, Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona accompanied by Walvis Bay Rural constituency councillor Ruben Shikongo.
