Oversight Activities of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations, Defense & Security in Zambezi & Kavango Regions Concludes | 31 August 2025

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security wrapped up its oversight activities, the committee undertook a visit to the Divundu Correctional Facility.

Oversight activities gives Members of the legislature nuanced perspectives on the operations of Offices/Ministries/Agencies which enrich their knowledge with first hand information on challenges and opportunities in public service delivery. These equally enables them to meaningfully contribute to the debates and discussions in the house.

As the recesses comes to an end, Parliamentary Committees are expected to table their reports for adoption by the house and recommendations are forwarded to implementing agencies for action.

SUPPORT SMALL SCALE MINERS

Honorable James Uerikua advocates for the support of small scale miners to enable them to fully participate in the country’s economic growth, he highlights that they need to be capacitated so they equally build mining enterprises and thus reiterates necessity for government support.
