The only bird that dares to peck an eagle is the raven. It sits on the eagle's back and bites its neck. However, the eagle doesn't respond or fight with the raven. It just opens its wings and begins to fly higher in the sky. The higher the flight, the harder it is for the raven to breathe, and the raven eventually falls due to lack of oxygen. Not all battles you need your response. Not all arguments or critics need your response or answering back. Just lift a standard they will fall off. Stop wasting time with the raven. Just take them at your height, and they will fade away.

One of Nigeria's leading airlines, Ibom Air, is pursuing an ambitious network expansion. The airline is finalising plans to launch regional flights to seven African countries in April.

This was disclosed by the airline's Manager, Marketing and Communication, Anie Essienette, while briefing reporters in Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom State, on Friday.

Under the expansion drive, Ibom Air will launch commercial flights to regional destinations in 7 African countries, including Ghana, Cameroon, Liberia, Gambia, Senegal, Gabon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

“Already, we have an invite to fly in Gambia but will commence regional operations in the next two months.

“Ibom Air started with three aircraft, but in the course of our operations additional two aircraft were acquired. When the demand for our services was higher, we requested for 10 more aircraft,” Mrs Essienette said.

“Seven aircraft have been booked for international operations. They will be throughout 2023. As we speak, some experts have gone to inspect it to ensure that the aircraft are built to our specifications.

“Before the end of 2023, our own aircraft will be delivered but the Airbuses will be supplied in tranches,” she explained.

The expansion, which comes a little over a year after the airline signed an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of 10 A220 aircraft to boost its fleet, will see the airline flying to the Central and West African countries.

Wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, Ibom Air launched commercial operations on 7 June 2019. It currently operates a fleet of 7 aircraft to 7 domestic destinations.

It'll be recalled that, on 16 December 2022, Ibom Air carried its 2 millionth passenger since it began flight operations. The airline recorded the milestone on its Uyo to Lagos route.
