SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS OF UNEMPLOYMENT OF EBONYI STATE YOUTHS

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the general election come 2023, Pastor Dr Kenneth Nwabueze Oziomaeze has disclosed how he is going to tackle the problems of unemployment amongst the Ebonyi State youths. Pastor Ken made this disclosure in a meeting he had with the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Ebonyi State Chapter.

While addressing YOWICAN in a meeting held at Abakaliki; the Ebonyi State capital, he stated that unemployment has been a cankerworm and wound on the body of Ebonyi State youths and no government has ever attempted to heal the wound. But it has never been on the agenda of the previous administrations for the past sixteen years.

He also added that it bleeds his heart when he sees Ebonyi State youths, particularly the graduates riding motorcycles and tricycles in all the nooks and crannies of Ebonyi State and beyond. Ebonyi State graduates who are supposed to be gainfully employed in different offices of the state government, now engage themselves in hawking businesses and minimal jobs just to earn their living.

Again, he lamented that civil servants die, retire and resign daily, monthly and yearly. Unfortunately, the government of APC and PDP do not employ to fill the vacancies, instead, they will pretend or claim that no civil servant has died, retired or resigned and therefore take the advantage of the ghost worker. Thus, he maintained that he has a solution to this problem and he is capable of changing this ugly situation.

Moreso, he did not hesitate to tell YOWlCAN that Ebonyi is a state with limitless opportunities and resources: God has blessed Ebonyi State with mineral resources such as salt, zinc, lead, iron copper, aluminum, brass, crude oil, gold, limestone just to mention but a few. He stressed that he is going to embark on massive development of these natural resources thereby establishing various industries such that there will be room for every youth of Ebonyi State to be employed. He also stated that the machines that will be used in industries will be fabricated here in the state.

In conclusion, he stated that he has concluded arrangements on these long ago before he declared for governor as the experts; both local and foreign, are waiting for his invitation to resume operations.

Happy 62 years Independence to our Beloved Nation and 56 Year Anniversary to our state Ebonyi state.

Together we can build a Nation where peace and justice shall reign.
