Igbo youths under the aegis of Nigeria Youths Organization, NYO, South East zone, yesterday applauded a business mogul, Chief Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii for his numerous contributions to the Nation’s development, especially in providing dividend of democracy to the youths of the zone.
The youths however, conferred an award of National Honour of Merit and Excellence to Chief Odii, who is the Chairman/CEO of Orient Global Manufacturing Company for his outstanding humanitarian outreaches.
The group conferred the award on him during in a courtesy visit at his Lagos residence South West Nigeria.
The National Vice President of NYO South East zone, Comrade Okorie Chukwumaobi Okorie, while conferring the award, said the youth organisation found the business man worthy of the award following his numerous interventions and palliative he extended to the federal and state governments during the lock-down occasioned by the Corona virus pandemic.
NYO also congratulated the philanthropist for his appointment as a member of the governing council of the Lagos State University by Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwolu.
The youths noted that the appointment was well deserved and urged him to use the opportunity to once again write his name in gold in the history of LASU.
‘’Firstly, let me begin with thanking you and your dear wife for extending your benevolence to the Nigerian Youth Constituency during the lock down period, which was occasioned by Covid-19 global pandemic.
“Forever, we shall remain grateful to you for your all round support to Ndigbo and the Nigerian State at that moment of trial. You are simply AN AMBASSADOR OF HUMAN RELIEF and WE are very much proud of you.
‘’Secondly, we are also here today to Identify with you on your recent appointment as a Member of the Governing Council Lagos State University (LASU).
“We urge you to use this blue-moon opportunity to yet leave another memorable legacy in the sands of time; by taking Lagos State University LASU to an enviable position, in the comity of citadel of learning.

*FULL TEXT ADDRESS OF COMRADE OKORIE C. OKORIE - THE NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA YOUTH* *ORGANIZATION NYO SOUTH EAST ZONE ON THE OCCASION OF 2020 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATIONS.*

PROTOCOLS;

With a heart full of gratitude, I wish to felicitate with the teeming Nigerian Youths on the occasion of 2020 International Youth Day Celebrations themed; " Youth Engagement For Global Action ".

2. The theme of International Youth Day 2020, "Youth Engagement For Global Action" seeks to highlight the ways in which the engagements of Young People at the Local, National and Global levels is enriching national and multilateral institutions and processes, as well as draw lessons on how their representation and engagement in formal institutional politics can be significantly enhanced.

3. Youths as life wire of the society requires to enjoy all human rights and fundamental freedoms, and also require that Government take effective actions against violations of this rights and freedoms and promote nondiscrimination, tolerance, respect for diversity, with full respect for various religious and ethical values, cultural backgrounds and philosophical convinctions of their Youths, equality of opportunity, solidarity, security and participation of all young people.

4. Government should integrate the youths for global action as the aim of 2020 International Youth Day is to shed light on the need to enable the engagement of youth by making Local, National and Global Institutions more inclusive for the purpose of strengthening their capacity and relevance to achieve global action.

5. Nigerian Youths should engage themselves in actions that is capable of projecting the name of young people to societal and global connections.

6. We the youths should engage ourselves in programmes and activities that will rebrand us into national asset in wealth and job creation.

7. The Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR is highly appreciated and commended for the establishment of the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund NYIF to the tune of 75 Billion Naira which is the first ever in the history of the Nigerian State.

8. The Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare is equally commended in a very high esteem for giving hope to the Nigerian Youths by presenting the Memo which saw the approval of Mr. President for the establishment of Nigeria Youth Investment Fund NYIF.

9. In furtherance, we appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for founding worthy an Illustrious Son of Igboland Hon. Arum Nelson Maduka for appointment as his SA on Youth Mobilization.

10. Also, WE seize this opportunity to remind the Federal Government of Nigeria of our earlier call for the establishment of National Youth Development Commission (NYDC) and to build a National Centre for Youth Development as such will help in launching the youths into engagements for global action.

Finally, our felicitations are being conveyed to His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and Wife, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Wife, the Leadership of National Assembly, Mr Sunday Dare - the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Nigeria Governor's Forum, the National Executive President of Nigeria Youth Organization NYO - Hon. Abdulahi Abubakar Wali, active and fallen heroes in the Nigerian Project, etc as we mark this year's international youth day celebrations.

NIGERIA YOUTH ORGANIZATION (NYO).

12th August is a day designated by the united Nations to Commemorate INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY Across the Globe.

The Purpose of marking this Special Day is to reawaken the consciousness of the Youth and also Draw attention to the sociocultural, legal and political Issues affecting the Youth. The First IYD was observed on 12th August 2020.

The theme of International youth Day 2020, ''Youth Engagement For Global Action'' aims to highlight the Engagement of young people at the local, National and Global levels in enriching National and Multilateral Institutions and processes as well as draw lessons on how their representation and engagement in formal institutional politics can be Significantly enhanced.

Unlike the past years, 2020 IYD will be a unique one in that the day will not be marked by people parked in Halls to give attention to an array of Cultural and legal matters that touch on their lives.

Following this years theme, I am pushing for our Youth all over the globe to get themselves involved positively towards achieving goals that will spur a global world action and Development.

I strongly advocate for the Youth to add their voice to National matters which increases the Scope of the fairness of political processes by shrinking Democratic deficits.

I strongly believe that the current challenges being faced in the world today can be fought through meaningful participation and Engagement of the Youth.

I, on behalf of the State Executive Council and entire members of the Nigerian Youth Organization (NYO) Ebonyi state chapter, heartily felicitate with Nigeria's youth and the world at large as I charge them to continue to push in ensuring better tomorrow for ourselves.

Igbo youths under the aegis of Nigeria Youth Organization NYO, South East zone,have commended Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for appointing Ebonyi indigene, Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, into the Governing Council of the Lagos State University (LASU).

Odii hails from Isuokoma Clan in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and is Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Orient Global Manufacturing Company and President/Co-founder Ebele and AnyiChuks Foundation.

The Igbo youths commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for the appointment, describing it as well deserved given the track records of the appointee.

NYO in a statement, yesterday, by its National Vice Chairman South East zone,Okorie Chukwumaobi Okorie, said by the appointment, Sanwo-Olu had demonstrated that he was a detribalised leader.

“We are happy to be associated with Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, we’re confident that he will use this unparalleled ample privilege to yet leave another indelible footprints in the sands of time by taking Lagos State University to an enviable height. Comr John Mikel ogbonna (State Director of Media and Publicity) Nigerian Youth Organization, is an Ebonyi born youth and student right activist from onicha local government Area of Ebonyi State.

He attended Bright Excellent Primary School illogbo, Ojo Lagos after which he Proceeded to Kabe College illogbo, Ojo Lagos state where he sat for his SSCE.

Due to his Unquenchable thirst for knowledge and his desire to become a better person in the society, He proceeded to Enroll into Ebonyi state university where he later got admission to study Political science.
