THE ESSENCE OF ELECTION IN EBONYI

The essence of an election is for the people to choose between choices. Then, the sweetness of election, therefore, is that there be alternativchchoicess. In an election, one person does not choose for the people. The people have to choose for themselves through the electioneering process, the cardinal of which is making their choice by casting a vote.

If one political party is what we have in Ebonyi State, then of what essence is it for us to have an election? In other words, what's the reason for having an election if not the fact that there would be many alternatives for people to choose the best?

peopleteete wisely in this election... This is because the policies of the new GOVERNMENT to come will be the determinant of the kind of life you live for the next eight years to come. Your future depends on it because its policy would determine the kind of education that you or your children would have, or whether you would even or ever go to school at all or not.

It should matter to you because your health and economy depend on it for the next 8 years to come. Their policy will determine whether you would have working and functional hospitals in the state or not.

The prosperity of your business is tied to its policy depending on whether the policies they make are harsh or friendly. So you vote for those with human faces and human minds...

The Rally will take off from APGA Campaign Office, Abakaiki at 10:00am. Therefore we are to gather at the Campaign Office by 9:00am. All the security agencies to accompany us to the Rally are in place. The low bed, live band, DJ and all the required means to ensure that it is the best in town so far has been booked. Recall that APC, PDP and LP... have done their rallies in town except APGA. It is then important we turn out en mass to down size the population of other Political Parties. Please inform others.

I, Dr. Nkata Nwani Chuku, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for this March 18th 2023, Saturday’s election hereby wishes to refute a Facebook post published on the timeline of one Anthony Nnanna, - ostensibly one of the paid Ebonyi APC Media goons - and shared virally in some Social media platforms claiming that I have withdrawn from the Governorship race.

In the fake news, the said Nnanna falsely alarmed that "APGA Deputy Governorship Candidate, Nkata Nwani withdraws from race, declares support for Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
Says he doesn't want to be part of betrayal. Details later!"

May I state that I am strongly in the race with Prof Benard Ifeanyi Odoh, to win this Saturday's Governorship election because our Party not only parades the best of credentials but we have sufficiently marketed our people-centred manifesto to the Ebonyi electorates since the take off of campaigns last year.

Further, it is on record that as a International Development Specialist of repute and known philanthropist, I parade the best credentials as a Deputy Governorship candidate and it is my honest desire to bring my wealth of experience to bear on the governance of our dear State.

Therefore, the said Social media reports should totally be discountenanced as false, malicious and intended to deceive any undiscerning voter in Ebonyi State. I enjoin Ebonyi voters to turn out in their numbers and cast their ballots for our Party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA on Saturday and be sure to protect and defend their votes.

The APC should focus on marketing it’s candidates to the people rather than this puerile and overused gimmick of falsely claiming that candidates have withdrawn for them, a few hours to every election.

I have also instructed my legal team to commence action against the owner of the Facebook handle so that people will realize that actions have consequences.

EBONYI GUBER POLL: NWIFURU, TECHNICALLY NO LONGER A CANDIDATE BY VIRTUE OF SUPREME COURT VERDICT - APGA CAUTIONS EBONYIANS NOT TO WASTE THEIR VOTES

- (Being a Press release on the forthcoming Governorship election in Ebonyi State by the Odohzia Ebonyi Campaign council)

We at the Odohzia Ebonyi Campaign council with our team of legal experts have reviewed with engrossed interest the recent Supreme Court ruling which sacked Hon. Victor Uzoma Chukwu, the Majority Leader of Ebonyi State House of Assembly as the All Progressives Congress, APC Candidate for Ezza North West State Constituency of Ebonyi State, in this Saturday, March 18, 2023 general election.

Recall that the Apex Court had declared Barr. Leonard Nweke Igboke as the duly nominated House of Assembly Candidate of APC in Ezza North West State Constituency of Ebonyi State. Barr. Leonard Nweke Igboke had won the APC Primary election conducted on 26/5/2022 and was the nominated candidate of APC, but his name was wrongfully omitted in the lists of Candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on 22/7/2022, which led to the case filed at the Federal High Court, Abakaliki on 3/8/2022.

Recall also that the Federal High Court had on 9/12/2022 delivered its judgement, in which it ordered INEC to delete the name of Hon. Victor Uzoma Chukwu from its record and Portal adding that it should enter and publish Barr. Leonard Nweke Igboke and his particulars in its record and portal forthwith.

Not satisfied with the ruling, Hon. Victor Uzoma Chukwu on 26/12/2022 appealed against the decision of the Federal High Court at the Court of Appeal, Enugu.

The Court of Appeal on 25/1/2023 delivered its judgment in favour of Hon. Victor Uzoma Chukwu and set aside the decision of the Federal High Court, Abakaliki, hence the appeal filed at the Supreme Court by Barr. Leonard Nweke Igboke on 9/2/2023 and the Judgment delivered on 9/3/2023 by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court after reviewing the case presented, found and held that the Court of Appeal Enugu did not wholly consider and correctly evaluate the totality of the unchallenged admissible evidence and exhibits presented and tendered at the Federal High Court by Barr. Leonard Nweke Igboke.

The Supreme Court frowned at the way and manner the Court of Appeal misconceived the case, which Igboke had presented before the Court.

Recall that the said suit originated from the defection of 16 Lawmakers in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly alongside the Governor, Engr. David Umahi from the PDP to the APC which the Speaker who now doubles as the APC Governorship candidate in Ebonyi, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru was one of them.

Based on the foregoing and sequel to the fact that it is a class case therefore, we enjoin all Ebonyi voters never to waste their votes on Nwifuru and the APC this Saturday as the Apex Court is certainly to take the same stand having set a loqus classiques in the case of the said Hon. Victor Chukwu Nwite.

They should rather all come out en masse and cast their votes for the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA Governorship candidate, Professor Benard Odoh who has an utterly unblemished record and no single litigation bugging him down. They should also endeavour to protect their votes by following it from their over 2, 490 Polling Units to the 171 Federal Wards and then the 13 Local Government Areas in the State. For that's their only surest route to escaping from the dangers of an APC or any other Party's government and it's barrage of baggages that may make things far worse they have been for the citizens in the past eight years.

3. Reasons why GOVERNOR Umahi refused to pay LEAVE and PROMOTION ALLOWANCES to civil servants for the past eight years in Ebonyi State...

4. Reasons why there was no GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT for the past eight years in Ebonyi State despite the number of the civil servants that both retired, resigned or died while in active service, to at least replace both the dead and the retired servants...

5. Reasons why there was an extremely high taxations on the poor people of Ebonyi State Under his watch despite the low wages and salaries paid to the people...

6. Explain to Ebonyians how the Covid 19 palliatives given to the GOVERNMENT of Ebonyi State by different NGOs and other donors from all around the world to distribute to the poor people of Ebonyi State was withheld and denied the people living in Ebonyi State...

7. Reasons why billions of dollars at different points in time were collected as loans and yet, the Umahi's regime that collected the loans hardened his heart and refused to pay the civil servants in the state their due wages and allowances...

8. Reasons why the Umahi's GOVERNMENT would summon the courage to pay a PENSIONER who has spent about 20-35 years of active years of service to the father-land about 20k as a pension stipend despite the economic realities of the time...

9. Reasons why the Umahi's GOVERNMENT polarized the Ebonyi State LABOUR CONGRESS and chased away the original LABOUR LEADER in the person of IKECHUKWU NWAFOR while planting his own recognized labour leader in the person of Leonard Nka as Ebonyi State labour leader...

10. Reasons why Ebonyi State House of Assembly did not initiate any Bill that has a practical bearing on the people it represents apart from Bills that enabled the House of Assembly to empower the GOVERNOR to spend almost the past eight years collecting loans from around the world, including the World Bank, Islamic Bank, etcetera...

Reasons why a serving local government chairman in Ebonyi State drove to State Assembly complex and offered a dirty slap to a serving Honourable and nothing happened till this moment.
