I joyfully welcome everyone into the new month of December. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all, praying that this month brings peace, divine favour, and outstanding success. As the year draws to an end, may every effort made throughout the year be crowned with great results. May God guide and protect every member of our community, industry, and rescue squad. May happiness never leave your homes and may we all finish this year strong. I pray that this month becomes one of celebration, breakthrough, and testimony for every one of us. Happy New Month of December to you all.

To His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, I also extend warm December greetings. May God grant you greater wisdom, strength, and good health. A Call to Action for Our People

As responsible citizens of Ebonyi State, it is time we prepare ourselves for the future by getting our Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC). The PVC is our power, and with it, we can continue to support the good governance and progressive leadership of our dearest Golden Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru that has been bringing development to our dear state.

Together, let us stand firm in making 4 + 4 = 8 for FON, ensuring continuity, peace, and prosperity for all.

OBEL FOUNDATION – 2025 BURSARY AND SCHOLARSHIP DISBURSEMENT

Yesterday was yet another history made in Iphuigwe Autonomous Community. Since 2023, through the Obel Foundation, I have continued to support our undergraduates with bursary and to award scholarships to less privileged students, and yesterday added another golden page to that record.

For me, this noble gesture is not just about giving financial support; it is my own way of standing firmly behind the Golden, God-given Governor of our dear Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and his People’s Charter of Needs. I believe strongly that education is the most powerful tool we can use to fight poverty and break the chains of slavery in our land.

I felt deeply happy seeing the increasing number of students from this very community who are determined to further their education. It gives me strong hope that our future is secure. That is why I continue to advise all parents to encourage and allow their children to pursue higher education, because it remains the only sure way to eradicate mental poverty and raise enlightened leaders for tomorrow.

To the young people of this community, I throw a challenge: if you truly want to be part of this great foundation, take your JAMB UTME, gain admission into higher institutions, and you will automatically become a member of the Obel Foundation. Education is the gateway, and I am committed to standing by you.

We also used the occasion to sensitize our students on the importance of their PVC. I reminded them that the PVC is not just a card; it is their power, their voice, and their authority to decide who governs them. Without it, a student abandons part of his or her future.

Finally, I want to sincerely thank all my supporters — those praying for me, those working with me directly, and those indirectly contributing to this vision. Your love, prayers, and sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. I pray that God, in His infinite mercy, will reward every one of us in multiple folds.

I, Hon. Obeji Linus Nkwuda, Executive Chairman of Abakaliki Rice Mill Industrial Association doubled as President General PG Town Union Development of Iphuigwe Autonomous Community, on behalf of my family and the entire people I represent, warmly congratulate the First Family of Ebonyi State led by His Excellency, Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, his wife, and all sons and daughters of Izhi Nation on the celebration of our great New Yam Festival (Ojiji Izhi).

Ojiji Izhi reminds us of our ancestors’ escape from famine and their triumph over hardship. Today, it stands for love, unity, peace, and progress among our people.

I commend the Ishi-Uke and his cabinet for preserving our cherished culture and tradition. May this year’s festival bring blessings, growth, and happiness to every Izhi household.

As encomiums continue to pour in to celebrate the minister of works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi''s 62nd birthday, the chairman of the Abakaliki rice mill industry, Chief Obeji Linus, has praised his monumental achievements in providing good infrastructure in Ebonyi state.

Obeji, who gave the eulogy in Abakaliki, the state capital, commended the former governor for currently showcasing expertise and diligence at the federal level as a minister of works, saying that Nigerians are proud and fortunate to have him in the position.

"Generally I'm wishing him a happy birthday. Of course you know that His Excellency, Engr. Dave Umahi, is a father of equity. As far as Ebonyi State politics is concerned, his monumental achievements during his administration are evident everywhere.

"The people of the rice mill and Ebonyi State are proud of what he is doing at the national level. For the first time in the history of Nigeria, a minister has come in to prove that Nigerian roads can be motorable, and there's also the need for new roads to be created, and that has occasioned the coastal highway connecting various states in the nation.

"We are wishing him well and saying that Nigeria is proud and fortunate to have him, and we are praying that God should continue to give him strength for greater assignments ahead of him." Hon. Obeji Linus said.

SAY NO TO TOUTING AT ABAKALIKI RICE MILL

The Abakaliki Rice Mill Industrial Association is sending a strong and clear message: We will no longer tolerate any form of touting within and around the Rice Mill premises.

Touts are a serious threat to peace, order, and the smooth running of our business environment. They intimidate traders, extort money, and create unnecessary tension in the Mill. This must stop!

Anyone caught acting as a tout or supporting touting activities in any way will be arrested and will face the full wrath of the law. The Mill is a place for serious business, not lawlessness.

We must also use this opportunity to sincerely appreciate the peaceable, able, capable, and capacity Governor of Ebonyi State Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who has created the peaceful atmosphere we are enjoying today. It is our duty to protect this peace by avoiding any form of illegal extortion or unlawful activity.

We are fully committed to maintaining peace, discipline, and a safe environment for everyone doing business at the Rice Mill. This is why the Executive body is standing firm on zero tolerance for touting.

Let it be known that we will not fold our hands and watch a few individuals destroy what many have worked hard to build. All members and traders are advised to go about their business peacefully and report any suspicious activity.

Together, we can make Abakaliki Rice Mill a better and safer place for all.
