2023: Emulate footsteps of APC Northern Governors, Group tells other presidential Aspirants
..Umahi is suitable for President in 2023
A Non-governmental Organization, Project for United Nigeria, Sunday called on presidential aspirants on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, and other political parties to emulate the footsteps of Northern Governors by stepping down for a South East presidential aspirant ahead of the 2023 general election.
Recall that 10 APC Northern Governors had in a statementt supported the move for power shift to Southern region of the country.
Disclosing this in a statement, the National Coordinator of PFUN, Chief Emmanuel Igwe who commended the APC Governors for their patriotism and commitment to one Nigeria and justice for all the regions of the country, described their action as "sacrifice for the unity and continued existence of our nationhood".
According to Igwe, "History will always be kind to the Governors for their courageous stand during our most challenging time as a country; they demonstrated love for Nigeria above narrow regional and self interests. What is needed now is for other aspirants from Southwest and South South to take a clue from our Northern brothers by stepping down for South East aspirants."
The Coordinator of the group called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that power shifts to the South East as the Zone had suffered so much political and economical marginalization, which needed to be addressed in the 2023 general election.
"We have gone round the country and by data available, Governor David Umahi should be allowed to pilot the affairs of the country for the unity and prosperity to this country."
"Buhari as a father should see to the full implementation of power shift to South East geopolitical zone of the country as the South East had not be able to access power, since 1967 till date.
"The group has accessed other APC aspirants and came up with a resolution that Governor David Umahi o
INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE EBONYI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
When Governor Umahi made an audacious promise to bequeath an international standard Airport to Ebonyi people before the end of his administration few years ago, it was variously dismissed by some cynics as one of the fantasies of Nigerians politicians.
Being determined to uplift Ebonyi to the envy of sister States in the Federation, Governor Umahi was undaunted by the cacophonous tunes of his detractors and religiously went about hatching the promise to concrete reality.
Today, the Ebonyi International Airport, situated at Ezza land along the Abakaliki-Afikpo road is at the verge of becoming a reality more than a mere fallacy.
The Airport landmass measuring over one hundred hectares is beehive of activities with work massively ongoing in a bid to meet up the target of commencement of flight operations as soon as possible.
The colossal edifice which has space for administrative operations of the airport, sit-out for arrivals and departures, Immigration, Police, Fire Service as well as other critical flight operations is progressing at geometric rate and in fabulous eminence.
The quality of the ongoing construction is second to none and represents the unprecedented hunger for delivery of quality legacies to Ebonyi people.
The road leading to the airport from the Abakaliki-Afikpo road is already completed on eight inches rigid pavement with state of the art street light lined up to provide adequate illumination even at night.
Along the road leading to the Airport from the Abakaliki-Afikpo road is an ongoing construction of a multi span flyover meant to ease flow of traffic at the airport junction when flight operation finally commences.
Work on the airport runway is equally currently at palpable status in readiness for final asphalting of the routes cast on 14 inches concrete pavement.
The gate house has a magnificent Umahi trademark finishing that provides succinctly the full superlative featu
PRESS RElEASE
2023:Time For UK ,USA and Stakeholders of Nigeria to Come out of their Cocoon.
I have watched with dismay the activities of the two major political politics in Nigeria, namely PDP and APC and their obvious plans to undermine the harmonious relationship that exists between the six Geo_Political zones and the tripod which Nigeria stood on before the Unfortunate event of Nigerian Civil war ,the North dominated by the Hausa _Fulani ,the South dominated by the Yorubas and Eastern Nigerian predominantly occupied by the Igbos and wish to state as follows.
(1) That all Political Parties should zone their Presidential ticket to Southeast region as was done in 1999 that eventually calmed the nerves of NADECO agitators that restored peace in South West and assuaged the effects of the annulment of June, 12th election that was believed to have been won by Bashorun M K O Abiola.
(2) That the famous Three RS as pronounced by Gen Yakubu Gowon immediately after the Civil war will be made manifest if all parties zone their presidential ticket to Southeast region as this will ensure total Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation of the Igbos into the mainstream of Nigerian politics.
(3) That United Kingdom,United States of America,Africa Union and the entire Western countries should act now by advising the players of Nigerian politics to zone their presidential tickets to Southeast as this will guarantee harmonious relationship in Nigeria that will engender peace in the entire West Africa Subregion.
(4) That all lovers of peace should speak out now as we believe in peace building process than dispute settlement.
(5) We call on the revered President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria ,His Excellency,Gen Muhammad Buhari as a father of the Nation to ensure justice and fair play to the Southeast region by prevailing on party,APC to zone their presidential ticket to the Southeast.By doing this history will be kind with him .

The whole Judgment
3. GROUNDS OF APPEAL:
GROUND 1
The lower court erred in law and misdirected itself when it held;
“I have not seen any authority which propounds that where a Governor or deputy Governor defects his political party on which platform he was elected into office, he cannot be sued by that political party to reclaim its mandate…Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution did not envisage such a situation”
PARTICULARS OF ERROR
The Hon trial court was virtually setting aside the Supreme court of Nigeria’s decision in AG Federation v. Atiku Abubakar & 3 ORS (2007) LCN/3799(SC)to the effect that there is no constitutional provisions prohibiting President or vice and invariably the Governor and or deputy Governor from defecting to another Political Party.
the provisions of section 308 are specific Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Constitution, but subject to subsection (2) of this
The irrepressible Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on Lands and Survey, Chief Emmanuel Igwe celebrated Christmas with his villagers, Ohinya, Ezekuna Autonomous community in Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State on 26th December, 2021.
The villagers who turned out in their numbers at Chief Okawo Igwe’s compound were all treated to sumptuous meals and many assorted entertainments. The SA, chief Emmanuel Igwe who has a traditional title of Ogbuinya and Ohamadike 1 of Ezekuna presented a sizeable cow to the women of Ohainya village coupled with other entertainments and cash gifts.
The women numbering over five hundred were visibly elated and took turns to eulogize chief Igwe for his uncommon generosity. They prayed God to shower him with abundant blessings and propel him to greater heights. They stated this is the first time they were remembered by a political appointee with such kind gestures.
Reacting, Chief Igwe thanked the women for turning out in their numbers and urged them to continue to support the government of Chief Engineer David Nweze Umahi whom he described as an uncommon transformer and professor of infrastructure. He stated that he donated the cow as a way of identifying with our mothers and appreciating them for their fervent prayers which has impacted positively on his life. He pledged to do more and reach out to other villages in the community.
Recall that Chief Emmanuel Igwe had done such gestures and more to the general Ezekuna community. He attracted road from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to his community and personally constructed two kilometers of road in his community.
As the women had prayed, we join forces with the to pray that catapult him to greater heights where he would be able to extend his generosity to a greater number.
GOVERNOR DAVE UMAHI : HARNESSING THE DIAMOND IN THE DUSTBIN
When I published my first novel in 2008 entitled “Diamond In The Dustbin,” I had set it against the background of the superiority and inferiority complex between the Abakaliki people and her Igbo brothers of the south eastern Nigeria. The old Abakaliki people were highly denigrated as the backyard state, poverty headquarters and the dust of the nation. As an undergraduate in Unizik from 2001-2005, I experienced and equally observed the contempt with which Abakaliki man was held by his Igbo brothers from other states, especially Anambra. He was looked upon as uncivilized, retrogressive, unintelligent, backward, a non-entity, violent oriented, sadist and a menial jobber. Some of my few brothers from Ebonyi State then in Unizik denied coming from Ebonyi State especially our brothers from the southern part of the state for fear of being derided and socially ostracized. Only few of us were bold enough to speak our Ezza dialect before our colleagues in the University. We termed it the language of the masters and we spoke it with pride amidst banters and derisive laughter from those who saw us as barbaric.
It was against this premise that I derived a title for my new novel and created characters that represented the two divides :Abakaliki and other Igbo people in the south eastern Nigeria such as Enugu, Abia, Anambra and Imo. Anambra no doubt was very outstanding in their contemptuous treatment of Abakaliki people. They saw us as second class citizens and riffraffs. Thus, I created my heroine from Anambra while my hero came from Abakaliki. The protagonist symbolizes both the Diamond and the Dustbin in the sense that he possess the rare quality of a diamond which unfortunately is to be found only in the dungeon (Dustbin) in Abakalik, Ebonyi state.
Neverthless, our amiable heroine spots the diamond even in its raw state lying in the dustbin and insists on harnessing it despite divergent voices from her
