National Orientation Agency, Ebonyi State Directorate charges the residents of Ebonyi State and beyond to be security conscious.
Speaking on the topic "Security Consciousness: Protecting our Children from Abductors and Kidnappers" using Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation, EBBC radio, 98.1 FM the State Director said that security is everybody's business.
Mr. Theophilus Nwokpor enjoined the people especially parents to be more security conscious and ensure the safety of their children. Mr. Theophilus enumerated the causes of child abduction and kidnapping to include greed, get-rich-quick syndrome, lack of family values, etc. The State Director adviced the people to always raise alarm and report to security agencies anytime they see strangers roaming around their vicinity.
The NOA boss warned landlords to always have a thorough background check of anyone they are bringing in as a tenant.
Callers in the programme thanked NOA for the enlightenment campaign and urged them to use local dialect and visit the hinterland as child abduction and kidnapping are on the increase in the state.

NOA charged Ebonyians to get their PVC
The National Orientation Agency NOA Ebonyi State Directorate have charged the people to go and get their permanent voters card in preparation for the coming 2027 general election.
The State Director NOA Ebonyi State, Nwokpor Theophilus made known during daily digest of the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation radio programme.
Nwokpor said only your PVC is what will give you the right to vote anybody of your choice. He commended INEC for the good job they are doing in registering the people.
Many callers during the programme were of the opinion that INEC should decentralise the registration by taking them to the Ward level instead of the local government area level as obtained now.
The State Director assured callers of taking their message back to INEC during stakeholders engagement for necessary action.

Enyadulegu Ndiegu Okpuitmo community witnessed government sensitisation and engagement programme.
The National Orientation Agency NOA Ebonyi State Directorate moved to Ndiegu Okpuitmo community in Abakaliki LGA with the Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign on the 5 thematic areas of
1. Values reorientation for students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions against sign out extreme practices
2. Campaign on flood mitigation and disaster preparedness
3. Government policies, programme and activities
4. Campaign on Nigeria identity project and National symbols.
5. Campaign on National security awareness.
Speaking during the sensitisation campaign, the COMO in-charge of Abakaliki LGA, Clement Nwankpu Edda urged the people to always support government policies and programmes, keep their surroundings clean, clear the footpaths, maintain strong community security and respect all the National Symbols.
The COMO thanked the Traditional Ruler of Ndiegu Okpuitmo community for assembling the people at Enyadulegu Ndiegu to interact with NOA on government policies and programmes.
The traditional ruler of Ndiegu Okpuitmo community, HRH Eze Pius Nwangele thanked NOA for her community engagement especially at the grassroots especially some hard to reach areas like Enyadulegu. He promised to work with the village heads, the ward councillor and other community and village leaders to ensure her people benefit maximally from all the government policies and programmes.
Participants were full of happiness and praises to NOA for her kind gesture of coming to engage and sensitize them this rainy season not minding that their place is very hard to reach.
Highlight of the programme was the learning and singing of the new National Anthem by the participants.

The National Orientation Agency NOA Ebonyi State Directorate in reaching out to all Ebonyians took the Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign on the five Thematic Areas of
1. Values reorientation for students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions against sign out extreme practices
2. Campaign on flood mitigation and disaster preparedness
3. Government policies, programme and activities
4. Campaign on Nigeria identity project and National symbols.
5. Campaign on National security awareness.
to Ikwo LGA. The campaign which was held at the Palace of HRH Eze Oliver Eze of Eka, the traditional ruler of Awoke community brought together cabinet chiefs and village heads across the community.
The State Director NOA Ebonyi State Nwokpor Theophilus charged the community governance structures to embrace government policies and programmes for maximum benefits from government. The State Director represented by the Deputy Director HRM spoke on the need to eschew extreme graduation practices by students such drink of alcohol and smoke, stripping naked and other immoral practices. The Director also charged them to take the security of lives and properties in their communities serious.
The traditional ruler HRH Eze Oliver Eze thanked the NOA Ebonyi State for this laudable programme. He promised to work with the COMO, Ikwo LGA to ensure the programme go round all the villages in Eka Awoke community.

National Orientation Agency, NOA South East Zonal Director storms Ebonyi State in grand style.
The Director of National Orientation Agency, NOA in-charge of South East Zone, Mrs. Regina Iroha was in Ebonyi State in continuation of the Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign on the Five (5) Thematic areas of
1. Values reorientation for students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions against sign out extreme practices
2. Campaign on flood mitigation and disaster preparedness
3. Government policies, programme and activities
4. Campaign on Nigeria identity project and National symbols.
5. Campaign on National security awareness.
The Zonal Director visited Radio Nigeria Unity FM 101.5, Abakaliki where she drummed support from the management of the radio station in engaging and airing NOA programmes and activities.
Mrs. Iroha informed the management of the station that National Orientation Agency has been engaging stakeholders across all the 36 states and FCT, the 774 LGAs and across all the communities in the federation on this 5 thematic areas in the last 2 weeks. She enjoined them effectively partner with the Agency in Ebonyi State to ensure the people benefit maximally from all the government policies and programmes.
In his response, the general manager of Radio Nigeria Unity FM, Abakaliki, Mr. Unya Efor thanked NOA for her enlightenment of Nigerians on different government policies and programmes. He was particularly impressed on NOA's direct engagement with the people.
Mr. Unya promised that Radio Nigeria Unity FM Abakaliki will fully partner with NOA in their different enlightenment campaign. He charged NOA to make available some of the National Symbols like the National flag, the Nigeria Coat of Arm including the portrait of the Nigeria president to public and private sectors to ensure they are using the correct ones.
Those in company of the Zonal Director's visit to Unity FM include the State Director NOA Ebonyi State, Mr. Nwokpor Theophilu, Deputy Directors - Okogwu Chinyere, Anoke Ben and Nwibo Sunday.
The highlight of the Zonal Director's visit was her inspection of almost 2 hectares of land allocated to NOA by Ebonyi State government for building her permanent office in the state.

The National Orientation Agency, NOA Ebonyi State charged Nigerians on the correct use of our National symbols
The State Director, NOA, Ebonyi State, Nwokpor Theophilus made this known during phone-in programme in Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation, EBBC, Abakaliki.
The State Director stated that Nigeria’s National symbols include The National Flag, the Coats of Arms, the National Anthem, the National Pledge, Nigeria Passport, the Nigeria Identity Card, the Nigeria Naira the Nigerian Constitution among others.
He said that every citizen is expected to honour and respect these National symbols, that made government set aside September 16th of every year as National Ordinance Day in Nigeria.
Mr. Nwokpor Theophilus stated that National Orientation Agency, in particular, uses the National Symbol day celebration to sensitize and enlighten Nigerians on what constitutes our National symbols, and the correct features of each of these symbols to avoid their abuse and misuse by the citizens.
The National Ordinance day celebration was used enlightened Nigerians on legal provisions of the offences of misuse of the National Symbols.
The Director said that NOA has been at the forefront of the campaign on the need for all citizens to respect the National symbols.
Others in the programme include the Deputy Director, Civic, Ethics and Values Reorientation of the Agency, Okogwu Chinyere who charged Nigerians to love and appreciate our dear country Nigeria saying that there is no place like home.
The Deputy Director also charged the schools, MDAs and private sectors to ensure they fly the correct flag.

National Enlightenment Campaign on Government Policies, Programmes and Activities – This will help the citizens to better understand the programmes, policies and activities of government, hence the citizens supports what government is doing.
National Campaign on the Nigerian Identity Project and National Symbols – This campaign is geared towards creating a cohesive Nigerian identity that transcends ethnic and religious divisions by promoting a sense of national pride and awareness of our shared identity and symbols.

* Stop throwing waste on our water ways, prevent flooding by clearing the water ways
* Support government policies and programmes to serve us better

The NOA, Community Orientation & Mobilisation Officer (COMO), Anaele Oko Beatrice, incharge of Ebonyi local government Area took the sensitisation campaign to Agalegu Autonomous community at HRH Palace Eze Paul Egbe Mgbomeze 111 of Agalegu Community and Nkaleke Echara Unuphu Autonomous community at HRH EZE Sunday OKeta Onuoha 111 of Nkaleke Echara Unuphu with their cabinet members on 2nd & 6th of September, 2025 respectively. The campaign trail also took us to Kpirikpiri market where we engaged artisans, market men and women and the general public.
Speaking during the sensitisation campaign, The State Director, NOA, Ebonyi State, Nwokpor Theophilus charged Ebonyians to pay attention to NiMet prediction and alerts, relocate from flood areas. The State Director represented by Samuel Okabe urged them to stop blocking the water ways, clean up their environment.
The State Director advised the public to see security as everybody's business to ensure we enjoy crime free society. He also spoke on the need to stop extreme sign out practices by students.

National Orientation Agency, NOA, Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State took the Agency's Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign to traditional rulers palaces.
The National Orientation Agency, Ohaozara LGA has charged community leaders and stakeholders to always own up and support government policies and programmes for the benefit of their communities. This charge was made by the Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officer (COMO) Ohaozara LGA, Mr. Agha Oko Egwu during the ongoing Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign on government policies and programmes. Mr. said the Sensitization programme is on 5 thematic areas of;
1.National values reorientation for students of secondary schools and tertiary institutions against "sign out extreme practices".
2.National campaign on flood mitigation.
3.National enlightenment campaign on government policies, programmes , and activities.
4.National campaign on the Nigerian identity project and national symbols and,
5.National security awareness sensitization campaign.
Also speaking during the campaign, the State Director, NOA, Ebonyi State, Nwokpor Theophilus represented by the Deputy Director, in-charge of Planning, Research and Strategies, Dr Ben Anoke spoke extensively on Extreme sign-out practices maintaining that there's fire on the mountain and hence the extreme measures to quench the fire before it gets to the plain land. He deeply expressed worries over the sudden moral values erosion among some students and he charged parents and guidance to be at alert not to allow their wards to go into immoral behaviour in the name of celebrating graduation.
The Deputy Director also speaking during the campaign, also emphasized on the need for our waterways to be cleared so as to mitigate the risk of flooding and safeguard lives and property.
Dr. Ben also encouraged the people to be patient with our leaders knowing that if a corn is newly planted, the incremental growth might not be observable to the naked eye unless with microscope, but over a reasonable amount of time, the owners of the corn will rejoice. Hence the need for us to be patient with our leaders.
Speaking during the programme, the Deputy Director charged the participants to be security conscious and he went further to caution the youths to stay away from cultism and it's related activities as this might lead them to early grave.
The traditional rulers visited are His Royal Highness Eze Romanus Francis Iyioku of Ugwulangwu autonomous community; His Royal Highness Eze Chukwuka Okorie of Mgbom N' Achara Okposi autonomous community and His Royal Highness Eze Frank Ivo Agueze of Mgbom Ugwulangwu autonomous.
The three traditional rulers of the three autonomous communities visited expressed profound gratitude to the team of NOA officers for timely enlightenment campaign programs brought to their ends and promised to spread the good news to those who were unable to attend.

NOA Ebonyi State holds Town Hall Meeting to Sensitize people on Government Programmes, Policies and Activities
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has moved her ongoing Nationwide Sensitisation Campaign on five thematic areas to Agbaja Unuphu community in Abakaliki LGA. The Sensitization campaign took place at the palace of HRH Eze Boniface Nwangbu was graced by the traditional ruler, cabinet chiefs, women groups, village heads, town union executives, religious leaders, youth groups, women groups and community stakeholders.
The DG of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu represented by Oyem Blessing Ngozi informed participants that the Sensitization is on 5 thematic areas of:
1. Understanding government policies and programmes
2. Values re-orientation among students and youths, with emphasis on discouraging extreme “sign out” practices
3. Flood prevention and disaster readiness
4. The Nigerian identity and national symbols and
5. National security awareness

The Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu has enjoined Nigerians to embrace government policies, programmes and activities. He made this known during press conference to flag off Nationwide Sensitisation Programme at NOA State headquarters, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The Director-General represented by the Director, Youth Engagement and Inclusion, Oyem Blessing Ngozi said the 5 thematic areas include

* Flood and Disaster Preparedness
* National Security Awareness
* National Values Reorientation (Students and Youths)

The State Director informed the members of the fourth estate of the realm that the Community Orientation and Mobilization Officers (COMOs) has been empowered to go into the communities across all the thirteen (13) LGAs within Ebonyi State and engage all the community governance structures ranging from traditional leaders, religious leaders and groups, women, youths, town union executives and all the Community Based Organsations (CBOs) on these five (5) thematic areas.
