They compete in Rwanda’s top-tier league, the Rwanda Premier League, and serve as the official team representing the Rwanda National Police.

Police FC started in Rwanda’s second division soon after being founded as a way to promote sport and community engagement within the police and local youth.

The club’s consistent presence in the top flight has made it one of the prominent sides in Rwandan football.

Their 2024 Peace Cup victory also earned them the right to represent Rwanda in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

As of the 2025 - 2026 season, Police FC remained a competitive force in the Rwanda Premier League.
