OGUN CP LAUNCHES POLICE/STUDENTS FORUM IN ABEOKUTA

With his plan to have and maintain mutual understanding between the police and students in Ogun State, the Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has launched Police /Students Forum at the Police Officers Mess Ibara GRA Abeokuta on Monday.

The Police /Students Forum comprises all students Union Governments of schools in Ogun State represented by their Presidents , General Secretaries and Public Relations Officers and the National Association of Nigerian Students leaders in Ogun State and selected Police Officers including the Commissioner of Police, officer in charge State Intelligence Bureau, SP Amina Yakubu, Police Public Relations Officer DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, officer in charge Anti kidnapping and Cultism Squad, DSP Olumide Jimoh and others.

The Commissioner of Police appreciated the students for their understanding and support since his posting as the Commissioner of Police Ogun State and charged them to shun the "We" against "Them" Syndrome that creates fractions between the police and students bodies always.

CP Abdulmajid Ali was assisted at the laudable launching and get-together by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Department of Finance and Administration DCP Celestine Okoye, DC Operations, DCP Bello Makwashi DCP Shina Olukolu DC Department of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence and other members of the command management team.

While reacting to this new development, the students leaders applauded the Commissioner of Police for the launching of the forum which is the first ever in the history of Ogun State and even in Nigeria.

The students leaders included Comrade Okiki Ogunsola, NANS South West Coordinator, Comrade Okunnowo Ayosile, NANS Director of Students Welfare and Mobilization and Comrade Dotun Opaleye, Joint Campus Committee(JCC) Chairman.

The student however promised to allow peace to reign in the state and work closely with the police command to fight crimes and Cultism in Ogun State as students bodies have zero tolerance for cultism in Ogun campuses.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali then promised to be having the forum's meeting once in a month to sustain the friendship between the command and all students communities in the state and fine-tune a way forward on Police/students crises in the state

Good day. The attention of the Ogun State police command has been drawn to a rumour in circulation that there is an ethnic clash bet Yoruba and Hausa in ogere Ogun State. The command wishes to debunk d rumour. Such news is baseless and not true. The Commissioner of Police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has therefore urged members of the general public to disregard the rumour and go about their lawful businesses as we have peace in Ogun State. OGUN POLICE ARREST NSCDC JOB SCAMMER WITH FAKE APPOINTMENT LETTER IN ABEOKUTA

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, INUSA ALI, m, 36,who hails from Borno State, but resident at No 15, Anifowose Street, Amolasho Abeokuta Ogun State, for duping one Oluwaseye to the tune of #124,000(one hundred and twenty four thousand naira only) under the guise of getting him a job with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The suspect was arrested on 5th January 2016 by police detectives attached to Abeokuta Area command when the report of his criminal act was brought to the Area commander in charge of Abeokuta Metropolis

The suspect, who has made useful statement to the police, was arrested in possession of a fake or forged letter of appointment to the victim. Many items have been recovered from him including the forged letter of appointment etc.

The Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali, has directed that the suspect be charged to court immediately. He further stated that members of the public should be aware of such unscrupulous elements who are scammers and perpetual criminals.

The Police boss however warns that the police command will not tolerate any act of criminality and extortion of innocent Nigerians in this manner.

CP Abdulmajid Ali then seized this opportunity to clear the air that police recruitment has not commenced, so members of the public are advised to be careful and avoid similar criminal act of scamming or extortion. "The Police Command will make proper announcement when we commence our recruitment exercise."

OGUN POLICE BURST PIPELINE VANDALS, RECOVER BOATS, VEHICLES.

The Ogun State police command has burst a gang of Pipeline Vandals at Akute Odo by Ishasi Creek Akute in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State when some Vandals were operating on the Creek on Wednesday 23rd Dec 2015 at 0100hrs.

The Police operatives attached to Ota Area Command and Ajuwon Division acting on information moved to the Creek and met the Vandals in the act but fled into the sea on sighting the police team leaving behind their 4 (four) operational Boats /Boat engines, 7(seven) vehicles, 30(thirty) 50 litre Jerry cans with petrol (PMS) etc.

In the same vein, the police operatives attached to Ogijo Division of the command have intercepted a full loaded truck of petrol suspected to be vandalised product on Friday 25th at 0330hrs

The driver of the truck jumped into the bush on sighting the police and abandoned the truck. The truck is presently in the Police Custody for further Investigation.

The command is mindful of the possible increase in activities of Vandals at this period due to the present fuel crises. Thus, the police command has put in place measures to protect all vulnerable points and installations and subdue any form of vandalization in the state.

The Commissioner of Police has however commended the police operatives and members of the public , who alerted the police of the criminal acts of Vandals, for their patriotism and selfless Service. He has ordered thorough investigation into the matter and directed that the hoodlums be apprehended without delay.

CP Abdulmajid Ali therefore assured the good people of Ogun state of proper and efficient policing of the state particularly during this Yuletide period and even beyond.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY: ROBBER SHOT DEAD AFTER GUN BATTLE WITH POLICE

The Police Anti Crime Patrol Team attached to Ogbere Division of Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday at about 0110 hrs engaged some armed robbers who were operating at Ajede area near J3, along Ijebu Ode/Benin expressway and left one of the armed robbers dead while others fled the area with bullet wounds.

The Anti Crime patrol team was responding to a distress call that the hoodlums had blocked the road with one Toyota Bus with Reg.No NND 529 XA,which had earlier been snatched by the robbers,while they asked the commuters to lie down with a view to robbing them but the robbers were engaged by the police team,which arrived the scene on time, in a fierce gun duel. The gun duel left one of the robbers dead as a result of superior fire power of the police.

After the operation,the commuters were all rescued unhurt and all their belongings were intact. When a search was conducted on the dead robber,a cutlass,five life cartridges and assorted charms were recovered from him.

It would be recalled that the Inspector General of police IGP Solomon Arase recently launched Operation Safer Highway with the distribution of more than 600(six hundred) patrol vans and logistics to all commands and formations of the police for adequate protection of lives and property of road users all over the country,and the Commissioner of Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali has followed suit.

The Command has deployed more than 40(forty) patrol vans along all the highways in ogun state. The efforts of the command to protect lives and property of road users within ogun state have paid off as many highway robbery operations have been thwarted while many suspected robbers arrested.

The Commissioner of a police Ogun State has promised the general public of adequate security in Ogun State particularly during this Yuletide period and even beyond.,and has appealed to the general public,particularly medical practitioners,to be on watch of anyone with bullet wound so as to alert the police for enquiry.

The family of Cpl Aliyu Quadri who was shot dead by armed robbers during the last Agbara Bank Robbery has received some amount of money from Zennith bank which he was serving before his death. The presentation was done in the office of the commissioner of a police Ogun State CP Abdulmajid Ali on Monday. We appreciate this bank for its gesture. Thank .
