How do you describe this beauty that just hatched today? are so cute and beautiful that you cannot but marvel at their being.

Five (5) interesting facts about Goslings (Baby Geese)
1. Goslings are usually covered with soft feathers also known as “down”

2. It takes about 28-30 days for a Goose egg to hatch. Once they are hatched, the eyes at opened and they leave their nest within 24 hours.

3. It takes about 2 months or less for the goslings to grow feathers like the adults and begin to fly.

4. Goslings are able to dive and swim 30-40 feet under water at 1 day old.

5. Geese generally have a strong instinct to return to their place of birth to mate and to nest.

Let’s talk about Striped Hyenas.

1. Striped hyenas have vertical stripes on their flanks and legs.

2. They also have pronounced fluffy mane that runs dorsally from their necks to their tails. They usually make their manes stand erect when threatened which makes the hyena appear bigger (about 38%)

3. Striped hyenas have a shorter hind legs and longer forelimbs.

4. They are nocturnal omnivores feeding on insects, small animals, fruits, melons and dates. They have powerful jaws that are able to crush bones but will regurgitate hoofs, horns and hairs.

5. They are known to be solitary hunters but they sometimes gather into small groups to scavenge carcasses. A group of hyenas is called a “clan”

NB: Did you know that Striped Hyenas don’t laugh?
