ASHIRU AFFIRMS SUPPORT FOR IKERE HYDRO POWER CONCESSION
The Managing Director/CEO, O-ORBDA, Engr. Dr. Adedeji Ashiru, FNSE, FNIMechE, FNIWE has assured the Management of Ouaint Power Infrastructure Limited of the Authority's maximum support at ensuring that the Ikere Gorge Dam hydro power generation is a success.
The Managing Director gave this assurance while receiving the Management team of the concessionaire company at the Authority's Headquarters on Wednesday, 6th May, 2026.
Ashiru said the Authority as the organisation that constructed the Dam, has lots of inputs to make towards the success of the project.
According to him, part of the benefits includes access to wealth of experience of over thirty - seven COREN registered engineers in the Authority towards achieving success on the project.
Ashiru however requested that the Authority should be engaged and involved in the processes of the detailed design and construction works at the site regularly.
The MD/CEO who commended the team for the visit, said he has no doubt that the organisation is capable of achieving success on the project looking at the company wealth of experience.
In their contribution, the Executive Director, Agric Services, Hon. Akeem Omoyele Oris, seek the assistant of the company to use its wealth of experience in the field of solar powered generation to assist the Authority in solving it's epileptic power problem, while the Executive Director, Engineering, Hon. Oluwakayode Sowade said the visit was timely and essential for the success of the contract.
Earlier, the Managing Director, Quaint Power and Infrastructure Limited, Mobolaji Durodola said the team is at the Authority's headquarters to seek synergy for the successful completion of the hydro power generation at Ikere Gorge Dam knowing fully well the importance of the Authority to the success of the job.
He therefore called for a cordial working relationship with the Authority and promised that his organisation has considered the Authority as part of the communities to benefit in its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts during the contract.
The Managing Director who seized the opportunity to highlight various similar projects the organisation has executed in the country, said the Ikere Gorge Dam contract is paramount to his organisation because of its uniqueness.
He also called for inauguration of a working team comprising of members from both organisations in order to ensure active and smooth working relationship on the contract.
The meeting had in attendance the officials of both the Authority and the concessionaire company.
