AMAC CHAIRMAN, HON. CHRISTOPHER ZAKKA MAIKALANGU, GREETS RESIDENTS AT SALLAH; URGES PEACE, UNITY, AND REFLECTION
The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, extends his warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and all residents of the Council on the auspicious occasion of this year's Sallah celebration.
In a Sallah message, the AMAC Chairman urged residents to embrace the core virtues of the season, which include love, selflessness, sacrifice, and obedience, while carrying forward the lessons of piety and discipline.
Hon. Maikalangu noted that the sustainable development and peace of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and AMAC in particular, rely heavily on the collective spiritual and physical support of all citizens, regardless of religious or ethnic affiliations.
He emphasized that the council's strength lies in its diversity and peaceful coexistence.
"Sallah is a period of deep reflection and gratitude.
As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us remember the less privileged among us, extend a hand of fellowship, and pray fervently for the peace, unity, and economic prosperity of our beloved council and Nigeria as a whole," Maikalangu stated.
The Chairman also seized the opportunity to express his profound gratitude to the Honourable Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and mentorship, which have been instrumental in driving infrastructural development across the capital city.
He reassured residents that the AMAC administration remains completely committed to delivering the dividends of democracy.
He stated that the council will continue to prioritize security, rural electrification, potable water distribution, and the rehabilitation of primary health centers and rural roads across the 12 wards of the area council.
While wishing everyone a joyful, peaceful, and crime-free Sallah celebration, Hon. Maikalangu urged residents to remain security-conscious and to report any suspicious activities to the relevant security agencies.

Sallah Joy: AMAC Civil and Public Servants Jubilate as Chairman Maikalangu Pays Salary Ahead of Celebration
Civil and public servants under the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) have erupted in celebration following the early disbursement of their salaries by the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, just a day before the Sallah festivities.
The timely payment, which was intended to ease the financial burden of the holiday preparations, caught many workers by surprise and sparked widespread jubilation across the council secretariat.
While expressing his immense joy over the gesture, a senior public servant who spoke on the condition of anonymity praised the Chairman's worker-friendly approach.
"We are incredibly grateful to Hon. Christopher Maikalangu for this surprise.
Preparing for Sallah under the current economic climate hasn't been easy, but getting our salaries a day before the celebration has completely changed things for our families.
This is what true leadership looks like," the worker stated joyfully.
The timely payment ensures that hundreds of AMAC workers and their households can celebrate the festive season with peace of mind, adequate food, and provisions for their loved ones.

FCT-IRS Partners with AMAC to Streamline Revenue Coordination
The FCT Inland Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), led by Acting Chairman Michael Ango, paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, to strengthen inter-agency collaboration.
The visit focused on partnering with AMAC through the newly created Area Council Liaison Department within the FCT-IRS.
This specialized department will serve as the central coordination and communication hub between the FCT-IRS and the Area Councils to harmonize revenue operations.

NAPPS FCT Visits AMAC Chairman: Advocates for Tax Relief and End to Revenue Harassment by FCT Public Health on Revenue
A delegation from the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), FCT Chapter, today paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to address critical economic challenges facing private schools in the municipality.
During the meeting, the association led by Mrs Dorothy Okwuenu, appealed to the Executive Chairman for urgent tax relief and the harmonization of AMAC revenue levies to ease the financial burden on educational institutions.
Additionally, NAPPS drew the Chairman’s attention to ongoing challenges with external bodies, constitutionally calling for an immediate end to the constant harassment of private schools by the FCT Public Health department regarding revenue collection.
The association expressed optimism that AMAC’s intervention will create a more stable, supportive environment for private education to thrive in the Federal Capital Territory and curb security threats by their staff member to the schools.

15,531 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the 12 wards of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Saturday, voted in the APC Presidential primary election, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Osifo Stanley as the two presidential aspirants of the party.
Out of the total number of votes cast across the 12 wards of AMAC, 5,717 members of the APC voted for Tinubu in AMAC Zone B, comprising Kabusa, Wuse, Garki and City Centre wards.
However, Osifo Stanley, another presidential aspirant in the APC, did not receive a single vote across the 12 wards of AMAC.
Further analysis of the primary election results shows that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received votes in the primary election as follows:
City Centre: 1,001
Garki: 2,172
Wuse: 996
Gwarinpa: 1,675
Kabusa: 1,548
Jiwa: 1,283
Gui: 1,060
Gwagwa:7,78
Karu: 1,826
Karshi: 447
Orozo: 1,706
Nyanya: 978.
Addressing reporters at Apo Resettlement Town-hall after the primary election on Saturday, APC AMAC Returning Officer, and the Executive Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, said that the votes of AMAC residents show that the people are in support of the President's re-election in 2027.
He said the good works of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu show he deserves re-election, advising AMAC residents to come out en mass to re-elect the President in 2027.
"As you can see, my people are happy. That's why they queued in the sun to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the APC Presidential Primary election today. We're impressed by the good works of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and want continuity. We don't know the other man, it's President Tinubu we know and want his re-election.
"I will advise my good people of AMAC to ensure they obtain their PVCs and vote for the president in 2027. Our President deserves re-election and we have to vote for him to continue his good works," he said.
Speaking earlier, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Rt. Hon. Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo, said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done so much for Nigerians and should be roundly supported.
