Last week, Eswatini Electricity Company trainees completed an intensive training on Overhead Lines Inspection Techniques at the Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The 5-day program, held 18–22 May 2026, was facilitated by NAPTIN in collaboration with the Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA) and the African Network of Centres of Excellence in Electricity (ANCEE).

Strengthening technical capacity and knowledge sharing across Africa is key to building a more resilient and reliable power sector. Great to see our teams investing in the skills that keep the lights on.

The NCDMB-sponsored Solar Photovoltaic Installation & Management Training at RTC Afam reached an important milestone as trainees undergo examinations following three weeks of intensive practical and theoretical sessions.

The examinations, conducted with the involvement of NEMSA, are part of the certification process that will qualify successful participants for NAPTIN certificate and licensing by NEMSA.

This initiative reflects a strong commitment to building competent manpower for Nigeria’s growing renewable energy sector and equipping participants with industry-relevant skills in Solar Photovoltaic Installation and Management.

NAPTIN remains dedicated to advancing capacity development and supporting sustainable energy growth across the nation.

Progress continues at the NAPTIN Training Substation, CHQ Abuja, under the AFD/EU-supported project aimed at enhancing vocational training delivery for Nigeria’s power sector.

The ongoing construction and development works reflect a strong commitment to strengthening technical training infrastructure and enhancing capacity development within Nigeria’s power sector.

When completed, the training substation will provide a practical learning environment for hands-on technical training, equipping industry professionals and trainees with the skills required to support a more efficient and sustainable electricity sector.

The pictures highlight the remarkable progress being made on-site as we move closer to delivering a modern training facility that will contribute significantly to power sector development in Nigeria.

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the 3-week Solar PV Installation and Maintenance Training Programme at RTC Akangba, Lagos State, delivered by NAPTIN in partnership with NCDMB.

Today NAPTIN marked the opening ceremony of the Empowerment Training on Solar Photovoltaic Installation and Maintenance, sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB)

The programme, held at the Regional Training Centre Afam in Rivers state, is designed to equip Nigerian youth with practical skills in solar PV systems—supporting both job creation and the growth of sustainable energy solutions.

It’s encouraging to see continued investment in building local capacity and empowering the next generation with the technical expertise needed to drive Nigeria’s clean energy transition.

We are excited to be part of the ongoing capacity development initiative for the newly recruited young engineers at Transcorp Afam Power.
These engineers are currently undergoing a customised Nigerian Graduate Skills Development Programme (NGSDP) designed to equip them with the technical knowledge and practical skills required for their roles across various power plants. The intensive 6-month programme will prepare them for the challenges ahead and support their transition into the power sector workforce. NAPTIN is proud to be training a cohort of 20 young engineers, contributing to the development of the next generation of energy professionals in Nigeria.
