The transformation of our oil industry continues to attract global interest, and that's the function of the purpose-driven reforms, which we embarked upon, under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Today, I received a delegation from the United States Department of Energy, with discussions focused on a proposed U.S.–Nigeria Energy Summit aimed at rebuilding strategic energy ties, attracting investment, and accelerating Nigeria’s oil and gas development.
The engagement emphasized a shared commitment to move beyond dialogue into implementation, with particular attention to downstream capacity expansion, technology transfer, and mechanisms to ensure broader economic benefits for Nigeria.
Key considerations also included the prevailing geopolitical context, the scale of investment required, and the need for concrete project prioritization to ensure the summit is deal-focused rather than purely consultative.

I joined the 49th Session (Extraordinary) of the Ministerial Council (Virtual) of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO), where critical issues concerning the growth, sustainability, and advancement of Africa’s energy sector were discussed.
Key aspect of the discussions was the progress made toward the establishment of the Africa Energy Bank (AEB), particularly regarding the fulfillment of member states’ obligations and preparations for its official take-off.
Nigeria remains well positioned to both benefit from and drive the continent’s mission for energy security and economic prosperity, a commitment that has been consistently upheld under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

As the Muslim community in Nigeria commemorates this year’s Eid el Kabir, I extend my sincere goodwill to all faithful across the country, on this solemn and significant celebration, which symbolizes devotion, sacrifice and compassion.
Beyond the festivities, Eid el Kabir reminds us of the importance of placing collective interest above personal comfort for the progress of society.
It is in this spirit that I urge Nigerians, especially the Muslim faithful, to continue demonstrating patience, patriotism, and support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
May this celebration bring peace, renewed hope, and abundant blessings to every home across Nigeria.

Diplomacy moves fastest when both sides already trust each other. Today, I received H.E. Yousef bin Mohammed Al-Balawi, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Nigeria, who paid me a familiarization visit, and what struck me most was how much room there is to grow within a relationship that already has 65 years of history behind it.
Nigeria and Saudi Arabia are not starting from scratch. We are building on a foundation. The question is how much further and faster we can go. We discussed expanding trade and investment between both countries, recognizing Nigeria's position as Africa's premier gateway and Saudi Arabia's emergence as a formidable regional business hub.
Lagos and Riyadh have more in common than most people realize. Both cities are engines of regional commerce, and both countries have everything to gain from a deeper working relationship.
To move from conversation to action, we proposed a Joint Committee Meeting and Business Roundtable at the Future Investment Initiative in October 2026. The groundwork is laid. Now we build.

I warmly congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, on his well-deserved emergence as the Presidential Candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the successful conclusion of the Presidential Primary Election.
Under the administration, the Oil and Gas sector has witnessed strategic reforms that are repositioning the nation’s economy for long-term stability and growth.
Through improved regulatory policies, increased investor confidence, full deregulation of the downstream sector, and renewed commitment to transparency and energy security, the sector is gradually becoming more productive and sustainable.
As we continue the journey toward securing a second term mandate for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we remain confident that these forward-looking policies will deliver greater economic expansion, enhanced industrial growth, sustainable energy development for all Nigerians.
