JUST IN: Tinubu Formally Presents 2027 Running Mate Certificate to Shettima, Confirms APC's Muslim-Muslim Ticket

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially presented the certificate of nomination to Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, confirming him as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

The presentation follows the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s decision to retain the Tinubu–Shettima joint ticket for the next general election, reaffirming the party's confidence in the leadership duo.

The development officially confirms the continuation of the same Muslim-Muslim ticket that secured victory for the APC in the 2023 presidential election, putting an end to speculation over the party's vice-presidential candidate for 2027.

The APC leadership says the decision reflects its commitment to continuity, stability and the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.

HOW TINUBU IS RESTRUCTURING NIGERIA WITHOUT A NATIONAL CONFERENCE.
For decades, politicians argued that Nigeria needed another national conference before major restructuring could happen.

The Tinubu administration has instead pursued restructuring through constitutional amendments, fiscal reforms, energy reforms, and institutional changes.

Tax System Overhaul.

No administration since 1999 has attempted a comprehensive rewrite of Nigeria's tax system.

In 2025, Tinubu signed four major tax reform laws:

-Nigeria Tax Act
-Nigeria Tax Administration Act
-Nigeria Revenue Service Act
-Joint Revenue Board Act

The reforms simplify tax administration, reduce overlapping taxes, improve the ease of doing business, and create a more coordinated tax system.

Small businesses with annual turnover up to ₦100 million now enjoy broader tax exemptions under the new framework.

This is fiscal restructuring without changing Nigeria's federal structure.

If we're honest, we would know that these issues he's handling have been the major issues limiting Nigeria.

But unfortunately, the same people insulting him today have been the same people crying for years that these are reforms Nigeria needed to make

No Nigerian leader has transformed our Nation as fundamentally as President Tinubu has.

1. He decentralised electricity generation
2. He decentralised railways
4. He is rehabilitating the ports from Lagos to Calabar.
5. He is building legacy roads: Lagos - Calabar Coastal Highway; Sokoto - Badagry Expressway and Calabar - Ebonyi - Abuja Highway
6. Over twenty other concrete roads all over the country including the Ibadan - Ilesha expressway
7. He has raised Federal allocations to all tiers of government from N700B to over 3 trillion monthly.
8. Interest-free Loans to students in Nigeria's Higher Institutions
9. Better welfare for Academia such that we don't hear of ASSU strikes again since he became President.
10. He has plugged the corruption in the round-tripping of forex which some people fed fat on at the expense of the Nation.
11. He did away with the fuel subsidy that was ruining Nigeria's economy.
12. He pushed for State Police in line with true federalism.
13. He raised the minimum wage by over 100%
14. He fired Ministers who were found to be corrupt.
15. He managed a crisis in Rivers State without an implosion.
16. He averted threats of the USA to invade Nigeria and turned it into a collaboration.
19. He has built his party to be far stronger than it was when he took over as President.
20. He has the confidence of Governors including those who do not belong to his party.
21. He is the first to classify all unauthorised armed groups as terrorists and gave security marching orders to treat them as such.
22. He mandated the Army and the Police to recruit massively to put more boots on the ground in the war against terror.
23. First President to order withdrawal of police personnel from VIPs for deployment to rural areas to improve security.
24. Unprecedented humongous allocations to the security sector for the purchase of weapons platforms and operational costs.
25. He raised funds via the issuance of bonds to liquidate debts owed to Gencos with a view to improving investment in electricity generation.
25. He allows a free and liberal atmosphere. Only those who commit crimes are hauled before the courts.
26. His international diplomacy is top-notch. In the UAE his speech was presidential and brilliant. In the UK, his visit was a showstopper. In Turkey, he forged a partnership for drone purchase and military training.
27. He has returned Nigeria to global reckoning
28. Processing time for an international passport has been drastically reduced. You don't hear complaints anymore.
29. He has grown our foreign reserves to over $50B the highest in 17 years.
30. Our GDP continue to grow in leaps and bounds and we have had a trade surplus with other countries over the last six quarters unbroken.
31. He insisted that foreign partners set up factories in Nigeria for the extraction of Lithium and Gold to create jobs instead of exporting the crude mineral without value addition.

As we step into the month of July and the beginning of the second half of the year, I warmly congratulate all Nigerians, members of the APC family, our dedicated volunteers, partners, and supporters across the 774 Local Government Areas of our great nation.

The month of July carries profound significance. As the seventh month of the year, it symbolizes completion, perfection, divine order, and the fulfilment of purpose. It reminds us that after every season of labour comes a season of reward, and after every challenge comes the opportunity for renewal.

The opening of the second half of the year is more than a change of date; it is a divine invitation to reflect on our journey, renew our vision, strengthen our resolve, and pursue our aspirations with greater courage and determination. Whatever the first half of the year may have brought, the remaining months present fresh opportunities to achieve greater milestones.

Nigeria's story has always been one of resilience. Our people have consistently demonstrated courage, enterprise, and an unbreakable spirit in the face of adversity. It is this enduring spirit that gives us confidence that our nation is destined for greater heights.

To our members and volunteers nationwide, I urge you to remain steadfast, disciplined, and people-oriented. Continue to serve with integrity, humility, and patriotism. Let every interaction with the people reflect our commitment to service, unity, and national development.

I also encourage every Nigerian to embrace this second half of the year with renewed optimism. Believe in your potential. Believe in the promise of our nation. Believe that with unity of purpose, sacrifice, and collective responsibility, we can overcome every challenge before us.

May the Almighty God grant us wisdom to lead, strength to serve, grace to persevere, and favour to succeed. May He bless every family, protect our security personnel, prosper our workers, empower our youths, strengthen our institutions, and continue to guide the leadership of our nation.
