The Federal Government has expanded its cash transfer programme to 5.5 million households, according to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Bernard Doro.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the Act Naija Project Steering Committee, he explained that the intervention aims to reduce poverty through key programmes such as the Conditional Cash Transfer, Grant for Vulnerable Groups, N-POWER, GEEP, and the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme.

Dr. Doro noted that 19.78 million households have been verified in the National Social Register, with 5.5 million currently benefiting. He also announced that the ministry is updating the National Social Protection Policy to enhance transparency and effectiveness.

Rev. David Ugolor, Executive Director of ANEEJ, described the initiative as a significant step toward ensuring inclusiveness and national support for vulnerable citizens.
