SAED is an acronym of Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development. The vast increase of innovation in the world and in Nigeria, has brought out the need of skills and more people are gradually tapping into skill acquisition every passing day; creating a bigger market for both the people acquiring a skill and the people in need of the services. With the SAED program, the second one is to develop your value, and understand how to manage and market your value. The last one is to find opportunity related to our skill of learning.
Since the creation of the SAED department in the NYSC program in 2012. SAED coordinators has been able to bring in opportunities for the corps members in order to empower them for the future while producing competent individuals for the job market, in the process of guiding investors, employers, cooperation to the door steps of these corps members. They stand as a guide and intermediary for corps members and the larger market audience. Currently SAED is working with different trainers to give corps members the best experience in learning. These trainers has been meticulously scrutinized by the SAED department so as to verify if they have all that is requires to impact these skills in a safe and comfortable environment. However, because of the problem of distance ; SAED has a running website that allows corps members to find a trainer at approximate of where they are serving. (name of website)
A lot of corporation has invested immensely into these corps members through loans, grants, jobs and mentoring. And through the developmental program of SAED, a hand fully of corps member has benefitted from this opportunity and are currently thriving.
