Rt. Hon Adamu A Gurai at A Glance. Rt. Hon Adamu A Gurai was born on 25th August, 1957 in Giade town of Giade Local Government of Northern Part of Bauchi state to Hajiya Habiba Gurai and Alhaji Mai Anguwa Gurai. He had his Primary and Secondary Education in Giade Primary School and Present day Government Azare Respectively. He earns a Diploma in Accountancy from the Famous Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) in 1977. In the same year, he started working with United Bank of Africa (UBA). In 1979, he Contested and Lost the state Assembly seat of Giade Constituency under the Defunct Great Nigeria Peoples Party (GNPP). In the same year, he was appointed an Accountant in Ashaka Cement Company. He rose to the position of the Treasurer and Financial Planning officer of the company, the Position he held for seven years. In 1995, he resigned his appointment with the company after gaining admission with the University of Maiduguri to Study B Sc Accountancy. In 1997 under Abacha's Regime, Hon Adamu Gurai Differed his admission after the good People of Giade persuaded him to comtest for the seat of the chairman under the United Nigeria congress Party (UNCP), but Lost to the DPN. After the death of Abacha, another Political dispensation was ushered and Hon. Adamu Gurai Joined the All Peoples Party and contested the chairmanship seat of Giade, but Lost to the PDP. In 2000, He Went Back to University of Maiduguri and Completed His B Sc. On Graduation, He Proceeded with a Masters Degree in Business Administration Specializing in Finance. In 2003, He Joined the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and contested the seat of the House of Reps to Represent Shira/Giade Federal constituency, but still Lost to The PDP. However, He still remained Focus and Determined and when the Bell on Politics rang in 2007, He Contested for the same House of Representatives seat under the ANPP and won. As a result of internal Crisis in the ANPP which lead its then Presidential Candidate General Muhammadu Buhari to leave the Party, Hon. Adamu Gurai Followed the Footsteps of his Political Mentor and Decamped from the ANPP and Joined the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). In the 2011 General Elections, he recontested and won the House of Reps seat. Following the Alliance formed by the then CPC, ACN and ANPP, a New Political Party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) was formed. Going by His Enormous contributions to his constituents, his People once more Presented him as their candidate for the House of Reps. In the March 28th Election, Rt. Hon Adamu Gurai was declared Winner and Returned Elected as Member of House of Reps to Represent Shira/Giade Constituency for the 3rd time. He is Married to Four wives and Blessed with thirty Children and Nine Grand Children.
