AU-PPP Forum Receives Royal Endorsement from Ooni of Ife
Ile-Ife, Nigeria — March 9, 2026 A major development in Africa’s emerging public-private partnership ecosystem took place on March 7, 2026, when senior members of the African Union Public-Private Partnership (AU PPP) Forum of the African Union Simulation and Jet Age Nation Builders Stakeholders Steering Committee paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwunsi (Ojaja II) the Ooni of Ife.
During the visit, the Ooni of Ife agreed to serve as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the AU PPP & Stakeholders Forum for a two-year term, providing royal endorsement to the initiative’s continental development mission.
The engagement marks an important milestone for the Jet Age Nation Builders Stakeholders Steering Committee, which works to mobilize international collaboration, investment, and innovation partnerships supporting Africa’s Agenda 2063 development framework.
The AU PPP initiative seeks to bring together governments, global corporations, development finance institutions, and private investors to accelerate projects in key sectors including:
• infrastructure
• renewable energy
• technology and digital transformation
• youth entrepreneurship and workforce development
• agriculture and food security
• tourism and cultural heritage
• smart cities and sustainable urban development
With Africa projected to experience rapid demographic and economic expansion over the coming decades, the initiative aims to position the continent as a major destination for responsible global investment.
The endorsement by the Ooni of Ife—one of Africa’s most respected traditional leaders—adds significant cultural legitimacy and strategic visibility to the initiative’s efforts to connect international partners with African development opportunities.
