Kyiv is a city where centuries coexist side by side.
Ancient gates, cathedrals, monasteries, historic districts, and squares preserve the memory of the people and events that shaped Ukraine’s capital across generations.
This Kyiv Day, we’re sharing six places that tell the story of a city that has changed, resisted, and continued to live through more than a millennium 💙💛

Russia struck a United Nations World Food Programme warehouse in Dnipro with an Iskander missile.
Humanitarian aid worth more than $1.4 million, intended for 130,000 people, was completely destroyed.
💬 “This attack is yet another demonstration of Russia’s true attitude toward the UN and its member states, as well as its blatant disregard for the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
I call on UN Secretary-General António Guterres to use all available instruments and authority to force Russia to stop these reckless attacks on humanitarian operations,” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stressed.

Today, we honour the warriors of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – those who carry out the most difficult missions every day, where a cool head, maximum focus, and readiness to act in the most dangerous conditions are crucial.
SOF warriors operate deep behind enemy lines, conduct reconnaissance, destroy critical targets, and create advantages for Ukrainian forces.
Honour to the defenders who gave their lives defending the independence of our state. We thank each and every one who continues to protect the freedom of Ukraine and all of Europe.
Slava Ukraini! 🇺🇦

On this , we extend our sincere greetings to the peoples of the continent!
Ukraine and African countries are connected by decades of cooperation and mutual respect. Ukrainian specialists contributed to infrastructure projects across the continent, thousands of African students studied in Ukraine, and Ukrainian peacekeepers took part in supporting peace in different regions of Africa. This remains an important part of our shared history.
Ukraine continues to strengthen its relations with Africa based on equal dialogue and mutual benefit.
We wish the peoples of the continent peace and prosperity!

Russia is waging its war not only against our people. It is waging it against Ukrainian culture, history, memory, industry, and the normal way of life.
Kyiv, the epicenter of Russia’s attack tonight, will recover. Russia’s reputation as a terrorist state will not.
We must collectively ensure that enough pressure is put on Russia for the sake of peace.

Happy Vyshyvanka Day! 🇺🇦
Today, Ukrainians around the world and friends of Ukraine are wearing vyshyvankas to honour one of the most iconic and recognisable Ukrainian traditions.
Every ornament and regional pattern of Ukrainian embroidery forms part of Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage. The vyshyvanka embodies the connection between generations of Ukrainians and remains one of the most important symbols of Ukrainian identity.
Vyshyvanka Day has also become a way to promote Ukraine globally and has grown into an international cultural phenomenon. That is why this celebration, founded by Lesia Voroniuk in 2006, was recognised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine during the “Honorary Ambassador of Ukraine” ceremony in the Cultural Heritage category.
Thank you to everyone who proudly wears the Ukrainian vyshyvanka, helping preserve and share Ukrainian culture and telling Ukraine’s story to the world.
