The Jamaican High Commission in Abuja, recently received a delegation led by the President of the Nollywood Executives and Leadership Awards (NELAS) Academy, Mr. Frank Ikegwuonu.

The Nigerian film industry in short is referred to as Nollywood. Nollywood began in 1960 and is currently rated as the third most valuable film industry in the world behind Hollywood , the United States film industry and Bollywood, India's film industry.

NELAS is proposing to host it's reality television contest, "Queen of Nollywood" in Kingston, Jamaica in October 2019. The intention is to connect with the African Diaspora outside of Africa. NELAS has future interest in hosting a Caribbean film festival, possibly engaging Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. There is also a desire of shooting part of a television series, "The Missing Beam" in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The plot of the "The Missing Beam" is, the beam is constantly moving about.
