Meet Sikiru Adepoju, a Yorùbá musician from Eruwa in Oyo State, Nigeria. Did you know that on November 23, 1981, Ogun State Governor Victor Olabisi Onabanjo issued a formal order suspending the late Oba Sikiru Adetona from his position as the Awujale of Ijebuland until further notice. The suspension eventually escalated to a deposition, with the removal set to take effect on January 2, 1984. However, the plan was halted by the December 31, 1983 coup led by General Muhammadu Buhari, which ousted President Shehu Shagari’s civilian government. The Fall of Kano

On February 3rd 1903, Kano were taking over by the West African Frontier Forces, which signalled the end of the Muslim fundamentalist Fulani empire in northern Nigeria.

It is reported that a witness states that the plane was struck by lightning about 40 or 50 metres from touching down and the fuel in the wing caught fire and it exploded. Following the crash, president Olusegun Obasanjo ordered all Sosoliso planes grounded.
