NSITF Records Historic Milestone
The Fund has successfully enrolled over 7.6 million Nigerian workers into the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS), reinforcing its commitment to workers’ welfare and social protection.
In a landmark achievement, the Fund also secured the enrolment of the Nigeria Police Force into the ECS for the very first time in history, a major step towards protecting officers and their families in the line of duty.
Speaking at the 2026 International Civil Service Conference in Abuja, the Managing Director/CE Barrister Oluwaseun Faleye stated that reform, resilience, and results remain at the heart of the Fund’s transformation agenda.
According to him, NSITF has:
*Processed over 22,000 compensation claims
*Increased compensation payouts by 21%
*Expanded ECS coverage across states and public institutions
*Strengthened transparency through partnership with the ICPC
*Accelerated digital transformation for faster claims processing
*Promoted workplace safety nationwide through strategic partnerships
“Social protection must remain central to governance reforms. No nation can achieve sustainable development while neglecting the welfare and security of its workforce,” Faleye emphasized.
