Strengthening the Data Ecosystem: NSDABIE Visits NDPC

On February 24, 2026, the Board of Trustees and the leadership of the Nigerian Society of Data Analysts and Business Intelligence Experts (NSDABIE) engaged in a high-level consultative visit to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission- NDPC headquarters in Abuja. This meeting marked a significant milestone in fostering a collaborative framework between the two bodies, specifically targeting human capital development.

The discussions centered on establishing a robust partnership in capacity building, ensuring that data professionals across the nation are equipped with the technical expertise and ethical grounding required to navigate the evolving digital economy.
The heart of the session involved a strategic discourse on data privacy and protection, reflecting the critical intersection between business intelligence and regulatory compliance. Both parties explored the nuances of safeguarding data integrity while promoting innovation.

NSDABIE emphasized the importance of embedding privacy-by-design principles into data analytics workflows, while the NDPC underscored the necessity of strict adherence to national data protection laws to foster public trust and secure Nigeria’s digital infrastructure.

The meeting concluded on a high note of mutual commitment, with both teams expressing optimism about the future of the Nigerian data landscape. To commemorate the beginning of this strategic alliance, the NDPC presented several honorary souvenirs to the NSDABIE delegation, symbolizing the Commission's openness to professional synergy. The atmosphere of professional camaraderie was evident as both teams gathered for a final group session, solidifying the rapport between the regulator and the practitioners.

In a standout moment of the visit, the Visionary of the Society, Professor Noah, formally presented the NSDABIE maiden newsletter to the NDPC team lead. This publication highlights the society's research, milestones, and vision for the future of business intelligence in Nigeria. The presentation served as a testament to the intellectual depth NSDABIE brings to the table, positioning the society as a key stakeholder in the ongoing mission to uphold data excellence and security nationwide.
