ALLEGED SOLICITING: CP FCT ORDERS INVESTIGATION INTO ALLEGATIONS.

The FCT Police Command is aware of a video circulating across social media platforms in which a creator, identified as “Tumma Gabriel,” alleged that, in the course of bringing a matter for investigation at the FCT Police Command Criminal Investigation Department, he was asked to provide the sum of Four Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N450,000) for “mobilisation and petition.”

The Command wishes to state clearly that it strongly condemns such acts and does not encourage its officers to solicit or demand any form of remuneration before, during, or after investigations.

Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi PhD. FCAI, has ordered a thorough investigation into the allegations, with a view to identifying any officer(s) who may be involved in the alleged act. Any person found liable will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.

The Command also calls on the complainant to contact the Command through 08180382808, with a view to visiting the Command Headquarters and assisting the investigation by providing relevant information that may aid in identifying the officer(s) involved.

The FCT Police Command has identified access to potable water as one of the most pressing basic needs across several Police barracks within the Federal Capital Territory, with the challenge affecting the welfare and daily lives of police families residing in the barracks.

In response to this critical need, the Chairperson, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), FCT Chapter, Hajia Maimuna Ahmed Sanusi, engaged the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD., FCAI, and facilitated the provision of boreholes to improve access to clean and reliable water for police personnel and their families.

The intervention is part of the Command’s continued commitment to improving the welfare of officers and their families, recognising that access to basic amenities such as water is essential to creating a healthy and conducive living environment within Police barracks.

The Commissioner of Police appreciates the Chairperson, POWA FCT Chapter, for the timely intervention and commitment to the wellbeing of Police families, noting that improved welfare remains vital to boosting the morale and effectiveness of officers in the discharge of their responsibilities to the people of the FCT.

FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD.

…CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice

The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child.

Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

The suspect has been taken into protective custody, while investigations into the alleged crime is being expanded to unravel the extent of his activities and apprend any accomplices who may be involved.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi PhD, FCAI., strongly discourages members of the public from taking the law into their own hands or engaging in jungle justice, as such acts are criminal and tantamount to murder, under the law.

The Command enjoins parents and guardians to remain vigilant and pay close attention to the safety and wellbeing of their children and wards. FCT POLICE WARN AGAINST USE OF VEHICLES WITHOUT LICENCE PLATES AND CONCEALED PLATE NUMBERS

…as CP FCT orders arrest and immediate prosecution of offenders

The FCT Police Command wishes to warn motorists and vehicle owners against the use of vehicles without valid licence plates, deliberately faded plate numbers as well as vehicles with concealed license plates particularly by persons driving SUVs except top government officials. The Command also warns against the use of fake diplomatic plate numbers or the use of such numbers by unauthorised persons within the Federal Capital Territory.

The warning, issued by the CP, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD., FCAI, follows the proliferation of such vehicles, which have been observed to be used by criminal elements to evade detection, identification and arrest during and after the commission of offences.

The Federal Capital Territory is a peculiar environment where the use of such vehicles poses significant security concerns, as it may hinder effective identification and tracking by law enforcement agencies.

The Commissioner of Police therefore warns that motorists found operating such vehicles in violation of the law will be arrested, and prosecuted immediately in accordance with the law. Further directing all police officers across the FCT to intensify enforcement and ensure strict compliance with extant laws governing vehicle licensing. Officers have also been directed to conduct such operations professionally and refrain from using the exercise as a means of extortion.

The Command urges residents to support police operations, as security is a collective responsibility. Members of the public are also encouraged to report suspicious vehicles or activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency numbers: 08032003913, 08028940883.

FCT POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR R**E AND IMPREGNATING TWELVE YEAR OLD MINOR.
.. police commence investigation, victim receives medical care.

The FCT Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit on 2nd October 2026, while on routine patrol around Airport Bridge Taxi Park, observed a fully tinted navy blue Volkswagen vehicle with registration number KMC567LQ parked with its windows wound up. However, the vehicle was shaking. The officers, suspecting foul play, approached the vehicle and opened it, only to see one Zayyanu Halilu ra**ng a twelve (12) year old minor.

Following the discovery, the suspect was promptly arrested and the victim was rescued. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had, on several occasions, lured and sexually abused the underaged victim in the said vehicle parked at the same location, with threats to "deal with her" if she reveals the abuse to anyone. Medical examination also revealed that the victim is about three months pregnant as a result of the abuse.

The victim is currently receiving medical care and assessment, while the suspect remains in Police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi PhD., FCAI, urges parents and guardians to remain vigilant and pay close attention to the whereabouts, safety and welfare of their wards at all times.
