🌳 Yesterday, Ekiti State marked International Day of Forests 2026 🌍

At the State Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti, stakeholders gathered to highlight the theme “Forests and Economies” — reinforcing that forests are not just environmental assets, but powerful drivers of economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development.

In his address, the Governor represented by Prof Mrs Abibat Adubiaro, emphasized that investing in forestry is investing in Ekiti’s future — from supporting agriculture and youth employment to creating wealth through tree planting and sustainable forest management.

He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to:
- Strengthening forest protection and security
- Supporting tree planting through affordable seedlings
- Encouraging private sector participation
- Combating illegal logging and promoting sustainability

The message was clear: every tree planted today is an investment in our environment, economy, and future generations.

Together, we can keep Ekiti green and thriving.
