Nigeria at 66!

At Independence in 1960, forests were estimated to cover about 30–40% of Nigeria’s 92.4 million-hectare landmass.

Today, Ekiti State Forestry Commission is playing its part in bringing back the glory through forest restoration, conservation and sustainable management.

Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!

Today we were very pleased to host a delegation from the youth wing of the Ekiti State Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They approached us to see how they can get involved in tree growing and we were happy to oblige. Looking forward to a fruitful collaboration

We were honored to participate in last week's Committee Session of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, where we discussed practical strategies for mitigating the impact of hazardous rainstorms across Ekiti State.

The session provided a valuable platform to emphasize the critical role of reforestation in strengthening climate resilience, protecting communities, and serving as a natural buffer against extreme weather events.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the Ekiti State House of Assembly and Princess Iyabo Fakunle-Okieimen for convening such a timely and impactful discussion. We look forward to continued collaboration in advancing sustainable environmental solutions for a safer and greener Ekiti State.

We'd like to congratulate our partner South-West/Niger Delta Forest Project on the recognition of their founder and Director Rachel Ashegbofe Ikemeh as a Rolex Awards Laureate for globally important work in primate conservation in Nigeria.

We are proud to partner with South-West/Niger Delta Forest Project in managing the Ise Forest Conservation Area, which is the last surviving - and the only protected - chimpanzee habitat in South-West Nigeria.

The Niger Delta is one of the world’s most degraded environments. Nigerian conservationist Rachel Ikemeh visited the area, only to discover a forest floor knee-deep in crude oil. More on rolex.org.

Every thriving forest begins with a single seedling.

Our nursery is nurturing thousands of healthy seedlings that will one day grow into forests, restore degraded landscapes and strengthen Ekiti State's green future.

Plant today. Protect tomorrow.
