OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE APPOINTS CHAIRMAN FOR IGBO DAY CELEBRATION PLANNING COMMITTEE

The President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Ekiti State Chapter, has officially appointed Sir Celestine Ejike as the Chairman of the Igbo Day Celebration Planning Committee.

Also appointed to serve on the committee are Chief Oliver Eziokwu and Mr. Emmanuel Onwusoro, who will function as the Secretary of the Central Committee.
Igbo Day, a remarkable cultural event celebrated every four years, brings together Ndi Igbo to promote unity, celebrate heritage, and strengthen communal bonds.
While inaugurating the committee, the President charged members to leverage their wealth of experience, competence, and available opportunities to ensure the successful planning and ex*****on of the forthcoming celebration.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Central Committee expressed profound appreciation to the President and members of the State Executive Council for the confidence reposed in them.

He further called on all members of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State to remain united, committed, and supportive throughout the planning process to guarantee a successful and memorable event.

*OHANEZE NDIGBO EKITI STATE OBSERVES NATIONAL PRAYER DAY*

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ekiti State on Saturday, January 31, 2026, joined Igbo communities across Nigeria and the Diaspora to observe the National Prayer Day, in line with the declaration of the National Executive Council (NEC) of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

The prayer session, which was well attended, was coordinated by Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ekiti State under the able leadership of High Chief Sir Alex Ndubisi, who championed the mobilization of Igbo communities resident in Ekiti State for the solemn observance.

Speaking during the programme, High Chief Ndubisi described the National Prayer Day as a moment of collective gratitude to God for His enduring mercies and unwavering grace upon the Igbo nation, despite the numerous challenges faced over the decades.

He emphasized the importance of spiritual reflection, unity, and faith as key pillars for the progress and survival of Ndi Igbo both at home and in the Diaspora.

The prayer session reflected deeply on God’s faithfulness to the Igbo people in Ekiti State, Nigeria, and across the world.

It also served as a spiritual platform for strengthening unity, reinforcing collective identity, and fostering peaceful coexistence among Ndi Igbo.

The prayer was led by Reverend Father Francis Oforegbu C.M.F, the Parish Priest of Blessed Michael Iwene Tansi Igbo Catholic Church, Oke-Ila, Ado-Ekiti, the Catholic Diocese of Ado Ekiti who offered prayers for peace, progress, unity, and prosperity of the Igbo nation and the host community. The event was graced by the presence of Igbo men and women of goodwill, community leaders, and faithful who gathered in one accord to seek divine guidance and blessings.

The National Prayer Day concluded on a note of renewed hope, faith, and commitment to the unity and development of Ndi Igbo in Ekiti State and beyond.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO IDO OSI CHAPTER HONORS ITS DEDICATED MEMBERS WITH GIFTS

The Chairman Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ido Osi Mazi Elias Ogochukwu Chapter had today during their end of the year celebration bestow gifts to Mazi Sunday Nwali Azubuike their financial Secretary and Mazi Agwucha Chinedu their Secretary.

In his remark he said this was as a result of their dedication to service notwithstanding that they are not being paid as Ohaneze Executive. He tasked other members to emulate the duo and be.committed to Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ido Osi Chapter for progress of the organization.

Equally during the meeting, Ido branch Chairman
Mazi Nwekpa honored the Ido Osi Chairman Mr Elias Ogochukwu with a gift for his leadership role and exemplary lifestyle.

The awardess thanked Ohaneze Ido Osi for finding them worthy for such a gift while they promised to do much better in the preceding year.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE LOSS ONE OF THEIR ILLUSTRIOUS SON

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti loss one of their Illustrious son Mr Ugboaja Christopher who died yesterday. Mr Ugboaja was the formal Vice Chairman Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ado Ekiti.

He will be truly be remembered by his leadership roles and wise counsel as a member of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ado Ekiti.

May his soul rest in peace.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE P.G DEMAND FOR JUSTICE FOR A SLAINED MEMBER.

President General Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State Visit Igbo Community in Oye Local Government to Commiserate with them on the death of one of them who was gruelsomely murdered at her farm by an Igede (Benue State) person.

The P.G High Chief Sir Alex Ndubuisi after listening to the reports of the Igbo Community adviced that law should take its course.

The Oloje of Oloje Kingdom and the Attah of Ayede kingdom were visited to press down demands to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

Both Kabeyesi's reiterated their resolves to support the ongoing efforts to bring the culprits to book.

ASSOCIATION OF IGBO CORP MEMBERS IN EKITI STATE (AICME) VISITS OHANEZE NDI IGBO EKITI STATE.

The Association of Igbo Corp Members in Ekiti State (AICME) visited Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State on familiarization visit.

Their President Onyeka Okoli Christians highlighted some of their goals while equally expressing what necessitated the visit.

President General Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State while welcoming them tasked them to be of good conducts and diligents as they may gets the best from their host state e.g Jobs, spouse and recommendations among others.

Patron Onithel equally charged them to be sensitive towards their security.

The session ended with a group photograph with both the leaders of the Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti state and their AICME leaders.

OHANEZE NDI IGBO MOBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA GETS NEW CHAIRMAN

The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Moba L.G.A Ekiti State elects their new Chairman and other executive members that will pilot their affairs for the next coming years.

The election was done in a peaceful and serene environment without no rancour. Mr Sunday Nwakpa emerged as the new Chairman.

The outgoing Chairman Mr Francis Okorieaga congratulated the new Executives, the Patrons and all other members for the support they gave him during his tenure.

He equally highlighted some of his achievements which included building of their Igbo hall from the foundation and bringing unity to the association, compensation of the past leaders, payment of outstanding debts, constitution amendments among others. He however stated that one of their major challenges was finance. He then tasked the new leaders to be courageous, faithful, prudent and ever readiness to overcome any challenges.

The acceptance speech was done by the new Chairman who equally pleaded for support from Ohanaeze state and the past executives. He equally read out his manifesto while expressing his readiness to serve.

The PG High Chief Sir Alex Ndubuisi was ably represented by his Assistant Secretary Mr Davidson Igbokwe and Mr Joseph Njoku the State Provost II.

EKIFEST 2025

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Ekiti State yesterday was part of the Ekiti State Cultural Festival popularly called EKIFEST.

This is hosted by Ekiti State Minjstry of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy. The Theme of this years own was Melodies of Ethical Leadership.

It started with a street Carnival after which the Opening Ceremony was done by the Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji ably represented by the Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly.

Ohaneze Ndi Igbo participated fully with their usual performance of Egwu Ogene.

His death has thrown the whole stage into a mourning site. Considering his legacies and his wisdom when contributing in issues of discourse.
