WE ONLY ACCOMMODATE STRUCTURES WITH DUE PROCESSES - ODSG REACTS.

Contrary to speculations and rumour being peddled by some mischievous people with the intention to blackmail and portray the image of the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN,in bad light, the Ondo state government through the Ministry of Physical Planing and Urban Development, has stated categorically in clear terms that the State Government has taken the right steps at preventing crimes ,lawlessness and unscrupulous activities in the state.

Particularly, with regards to the demolition of illegal structures in the state, which affected Climax Hotel and Bar and the perimeter fence of the Iye Oma Plaza; the State Commissioner for Physical Planing and Urban Development, Alh.Rasheed Badmus has categorically debunked unfounded allegations that the demolitions were politically motivated as acclaimed by a former member of Ondo state House of Assembly, Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa and the Developer of the Iye Oma Plaza.

Alh.Rasheed Badmus clarified that the so called structures were demolished in broad day light ,hence, the officials involved in the demolition exercise are easily identified.

He stressed that the premises allocated to Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa was not used for the purpose in line with the Ondo state Building Rules and Regulations.

According to him" the premises was meant for residential purpose, but later converted to commercial uses by him, which was contrary to the approval granted by the State Ministry of Lands and Housing.

Badmus pointed out that Ondo state Government encourages business investors from any part of the world towards the development of the state, but that this must be in accordance with the extant policy of the State Government and the State building rules and regulations.

Moreover and in clear contravention of the approval granted on the use of the premises,Hon. Iwalewa converted the premises to bar and havens for harlots and prostitutes thereby attracting people of questionable characters to the area in total disregard to the safety of other landowners in the area

Hon. Iwalewa equally cultivated the habits of bringing live bands to play in the area until the hours of 2 :am and 3:am thereby debarring other residents from enjoying their peaceful night rest after toiling hard in the daytime.

The State Government under Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, has always strives to foster peace and security in the State. In the words of Rasheed Badmus, "I am glad the rumour peddlers admitted that they actually knew that criminal activities do happened in those buildings " .

Furthermore, while disputing a statement that Ondo state Government deliberately clamped down on Iye-Oma Plaza at Alagbaka area of the State now allegedly acquired by one Showboy, Badmus said that the controversial building was not tampered with.

He ,however added that if any development activities are to be carried out on that premises ,it must follow due process regardless of the person involved

He affirmed that this position has been clearly communicated to the Developer. He reiterated that Government would not fold its arms and allow lawlessness to reign in the state.

The Commissioner particularly advised Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa to be cautious in his choice of words and desist from destabilising the existing peace, love and cordial relationship between between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Hon. Agboola Ajayi "Its my opinion that Governor Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN does not prevent any interested person or persons from contesting for any positions of their choices as the constitution demands"

Alh. Rasheed Badmus used the medium to encourage individuals , body corporate or associations especially developers in Ondo state to always visit the State Ministry of Physical Planing and Urban Development or Area Offices in their respective localities to submit the working drawings of their planned developments for necessary approval to create a friendly environment
