PRESS STATEMENT
Consensus Drive Failed, I’m Not Part of Any Agreement
By Tambuwal Campaign Organization (TCO)
The attention of Tambuwal Campaign Organization (TCO) has been drawn to a news item that former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Gov. Bala Muhammad of Bauchi state have emerged as consensus candidates from amongst the four of us announced at a meeting in Minna, Niger state.
This is, to be candid and forthright, not correct.
The correct situation is that the team met on Wednesday 20th April, 2022, at Bauchi Governor’s lodge in Abuja and had a review meeting; and, unanimously agreed that the consensus arrangement was not working.
The team further agreed that Sen. Saraki should come up with a draft statement on how to communicate this decision to the Nigerian public. This was the last time that members of the team sat and mutually agreed on anything. The proposed meeting to review and vet the statement scheduled for 10 pm of the same day was aborted unilaterally by Sen. Saraki via a WhatsApp message.
However, on Thursday, 21st, 2022, same Sen Saraki circulated yet another WhatsApp message suggesting that members of the team should head to Minna for a meeting on Friday, Gov. Tambuwal reached other members of the team and informed them that he stands by the decision of the team that the initiative is not working. This is the reason Gov. Tambuwal was absent at today’s (Friday) meeting in Minna. As a result therefore, the outcome of the Minna meeting has no consequence or any implication on the aspiration of Gov. Tambuwal, who had earlier on informed his colleagues of maintaining their agreed position that the initiative has collapsed.
Members of the public should be reminded that what was canvassed for was a consensus candidate and not consensus candidates.
For the avoidance of doubt, Gov Tambuwal has submitted his Presidential nomination forms and now that the quest for a consensus candidate out of the four has clearly collapsed, will go ahead and face screening and indeed contest the PDP presidential primaries.
This is in consonance with his acclaimed outlook as a pan-Nigerian candidate, with pedigree of national service as the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, life member of the Body of Benchers and now in his second and final term as Governor of Sokoto state.

PRESS RELEASE
Gov. Tambuwal Hale, Hearty
Contrary to an unfounded allegation that Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state was attacked and escaped death in the hands of bandits at a village in one of the local government areas in the Eastern flank of the state, the Governor is alive and was never attacked.
The news peddled and circulated is simply a false and spurious claim by a fictitious online media platform calling itself “Critical Times.”
While it was true that the Governor, along with his Deputy, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, heads of security outfits in the state and other government officials visited Sabon Birni to condole the people of the area over the loss of 23 passengers to an attack by bandits, it is not true that he was attacked.

PRESS RELEASE
Insecurity: Eastern Sokoto In Dire Distress, Tambuwal Tells PMB
… We’ll Flush Out Perpetrators, Says President
Sokoto state, or parts thereof, is in the appalling grip of bandits and kidnappers marauding and scaring the populace in recent times.
This situation is exacerbated by the influx of bandits and criminals displaced by the defective maneuvers of security personnel deployed, under Operation Hadarin Daji, to end their nefarious activities in neighboring Zamfara state.
These, according to Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, has left the state “very vulnerable” to the deadly and inhuman activities of these criminal elements.
Gov. Tambuwal stated these on Friday when he received a high powered Federal Government delegation led by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Muhammad Babagana Munguno (rtd), pointing out that the consequences of Hadarin Daji has resulted, before now and in the last four days “in broad daylight” attacks and kidnappings “in some parts of Isa ,Sabon Birni, Tangaza, Illela “and several other local government areas of the state.”
Monguno’s team include: the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Maj. Gen. Samuel Adebayo, the Directors-General of the State Security Service and the National Intelligence Agency, Yusuf Maitama Bichi and Amb. Ahmed Rufa’i Abubakar respectively.
Gov. Tambuwal told the August visitors that: “Operation Hadarin Daji,” the precursor of the escalation of tension and crisis in Sokoto state “…was carried out without any blocking force around the neighboring states, particularly …Sokoto state.”
“Also, the timing of the operation, whereby, unfortunately, our security agents do not have enough equipment to move to move and curtail and contain those that would pander towards Sokoto state didn’t help the timing as well. So, the timing and way the operation was carried out left Sokoto very vulnerable.
“It does appear as if those bandits pursued from Zamfara state have relocated to Sokoto state. This is a very serious call for concern,” he said, this appealing President Muhammadu Buhari “to deploy more resources to Sokoto state.
“There is need for more boots on the ground. I am familiar with the situation at the center, but I believe that something can be done, and, that should be done urgently and expeditiously because our situation is getting out of hand,” he added.
Perhaps also in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Tambuwal reiterated his counterparts commitment and support to the President in the fight against insecurity and other evils and made a specific mention of the support his administration has been giving to the apex government in his state.
“Here in Sokoto state, you can verify this from the heads of security agencies, there is nothing they have asked of us that we have not done. Absolutely nothing. Since the commencement of this administration, we have given security personnel in Sokoto state not less than 500 vehicles. We are also doing whatever it takes in terms of funding from our own end despite the lean resources that we have as a state,” he said.
Earlier in his remarks, Gen. Monguno, who thanked Gov. Tambuwal for cutting short an official trip to receive the Federal Government delegation at a very short notice, said they were in Sokoto “on a specific mission and instruction of President Buhari, “to condole you and the very good people of Sokoto state as well as His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, who apparently is in Abuja, over the unfortunate incidents that have been occurring over the last couple of weeks.
He explained that their visit “affirms the seriousness with which Mr President views the occurrence of the last couple of weeks, stressing that: “It has been unfortunate series of developments in which very innocent lives have been lost.”
“No life lost is one that is less important. Every life of every citizen is important; and, it gives great concern to Mr President that needless loses of lives are occurring.
“Mr President wants me to convey his profound condolence over the loss of all the citizens who have departed. He wants us to also express his deep sympathy as well as his determination that the perpetrators of this very gruesome, wicked activities are apprehended and brought to book.
“The very fact that the very top security echelon in the country is here is an indication that Mr President wants us to address this issue so that some form of comfort is given to the people of Sokoto state by a definite closure through a definite process in concluding what has happened to these unfortunate and innocent citizens.
“Mr President is deeply troubled that fellow citizens had to go through this trauma. He has charged to make sure that all the relevant agencies do not rest until we are able to flush out the perpetrators of not just these last two incidents that occurred, but also previous incidents,” he said.
Monguno’s delegation afterwards had about an hour closed door session with their host, his Deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Muhammad Achida, Chairmen of Isa and Sabon Birni local government area, heads of security agencies in the state, some traditional rulers and other top government officials of the state government.

Insecurity: SOSG Condoles Victims, Recounts 500 Vehicles Donated To Security Outfits
Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state on Thursday visited Sabon Birni town to condole the victims of the dastardly attacks by bandits that claimed 23 lives in a bus carrying 32 people on Monday.
Accompanied by his Deputy, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, the Speaker of Sokoto state House of Assembly (SOHA), Rt. Hon. Aminu Muhammad Achida, security chiefs in the state and some Commissioners, the Governor said: “we’re here to condole you all.”
“May Allah grant those departed eternal bliss and may He grant those who are in the hospital speedy recovery,” the Governor prayed, expressing hope that the survivors but wounded victims of the crisis will overcome the trauma of the ambush.
He emphasized that: “it is very disturbing that these kind of things are happening here and across the nation. As those entrusted with the leadership of the people in this state, we are very worried and touched each time such incident happens.
“Nonetheless, we will not rest on our oars in doing the best we can to roll back this unfortunate problem.
“We have been doing our best to support the security operatives in the state. We have donated over 500 vehicles to all the security operatives in the state and trained about 1000 certified vigilante members,” the Governor explained, adding that 500 motorcycles have also been donated to vigilante groups to ease their operations under the supervision of the security outfits.
Providing succor to the families of the victims, Governor Tambuwal announced a personal donation of N250,000 to each of them, just as he pledged the state government’s willingness to pick the bills of those hospitalized.
He further explained that his administration is poised to strengthen the operations of certified vigilante groups contrary to statements credited to a serving Senator that the state government has proscribed vigilante groups.
“What we voided were self-styled vigilante groups, while we will from the beginning of December start paying verified vigilante members N20,000 monthly stipend to encourage them,” Tambuwal said, urging all and sundry to jettison politics in the move towards resolving this crisis.
Welcoming the Governor and his entourage, the Chairman of Sabon Birni local Government Area, Hon. Umaru Danyaro said: “we’re grateful to you for the ninth condolence visit to this area since banditry and kidnapping escalated about a year ago.
“The security operatives here have been cooperating with the local authorities. However, what concerns security is not the state Governor’s responsibility but that of the Federal Government.
“Governor Tambuwal has been doing his best. People should stop blaming the incumbent administration for the woes befalling the people. Instead, we should all focus on repenting our sins individually and collectively. We should all reform our ways, the Chairman admonished.

Hope Anew · Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
TAMBUWAL 2023 FOR NIGERIA.
Given the crisis of development that has bedeviled the Federal Republic of Nigeria over the years, genuine leaders of the people must, of necessity, be those that are imbued with vision, courage, firmness, clarity of purpose, compassionate spirit, credibility, patriotism, articulacy, a strong drive for positive action, optimism, modesty, humility and dynamism and a Nationalist. Among the newly emerging leaders occupying noble positions of public duty in Nigeria, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , has been very outstanding. Despite the lamentable and precarious situation of our country ranging from bad leadership to systematic corruption thereby resulting to a high level of incompetence in both public and private duties yet, there have been some some individuals who has chosen to remain focus, resolute and upright in the society, and this could be verily ascertained in the person of AMINU WAZIRI TAMBUWAL.
Tambuwal, as a respected and dedicated Nigeria has gone beyond the ordinary to capture the essence of vision, hardwork , accountability and integrity. His activities in his discharge of duties as a public servant have demonstrated love and commitment to society at large; it symbolizes the love needed to mend the broken hearts and spirit needed by the Nigeria people for the advancement of the Nation.
Tambuwal's good conduct and administrative styles coupled with his numerous developmental strides and charitable work has fundamentally amazed the great people of Nigeria, his passion for humanity, enviable academic records, as other services has made a comrade of him and fully made him capable to steer the ship of Nigeria to the promise land in the assembly of Nations.
