Today in Akure, I represented my principal, His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the public destruction of illicit drug exhibits by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The exercise, which saw the destruction of 83.35 tons of assorted hard drugs, is a strong and necessary reminder of our collective responsibility to rid our society of substances that destroy lives, families, and futures.
As a government, we have adopted a zero-tolerance stance against the possession, trafficking, and consumption of illicit drugs. We will continue to intensify advocacy, strengthen awareness campaigns, and work closely with relevant stakeholders to curb the growing menace, particularly among our young people.
We will not fold our arms while individuals or groups attempt to undermine the safety and wellbeing of our communities through illicit drug activities. Offenders will face the full weight of the law.
I commend the leadership of the NDLEA, under Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (rtd), and the Ondo State Command for their dedication, professionalism, and sustained efforts in combating drug-related crimes. I also appreciate the support of our security agencies, traditional institutions, religious bodies, and youth organisations who remain critical partners in this fight.
Together, we must continue to build a safer, healthier, and more responsible society for present and future generations.

Yesterday, I joined eminent Nigerians from all walks of life, including His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the funeral service of Chief Mrs Deborah Adeyoriola Ujayoriade Ajanaku Makun, mother of Chief Mrs Remilekun Mulikat Ibidapo and mother-in-law of renowned business tycoon and philanthropist, Prince Rotimi Ibidapo, OON.
The solemn gathering also provided an opportunity to reconnect with my former boss, Alhaji Mohammed Ataba Sani-Omolori, former Clerk to the National Assembly, under whom I served as Deputy Clerk.
As we celebrate Mama’s remarkable life of 104 years, I congratulate her children and loved ones for the grace to witness such a legacy, and I pray that Almighty God grants her eternal rest.

Yesterday, I was in Ada, Osun State, to represent my principal, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, at the funeral programme for Prince Michael Ayantunde Ponnle, an illustrious son of Osun State, one of Nigeria's finest businessmen, and a great philanthropist.
Prince Ponnle stood tall among the pioneers of indigenous enterprise in Nigeria, particularly through the establishment of MicCom Cables and Wires, one of the earliest indigenous cable manufacturing companies in the country.
Beyond business, Prince Ponnle was a passionate believer in community growth and human capacity development. His establishment of the MicCom Golf and Country Club and Resort in Ada not only placed the town on the tourism map but also created opportunities that strengthened the local economy.
Our heartfelt condolences go to his darling wife, our dear sister and former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Her Excellency Mrs Titilayo Laoye-Tomori Ponnle; the entire Ponnle family; and the good people of Ada and Osun State, as we pray that Almighty God grants his soul eternal rest in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Your Royal Majesty, Oba Ebenezer Adewumi Ogunmolasuyi II,
On this special occasion of your birthday, I celebrate not only a revered monarch, but also a friend, confidant, and pillar in my personal and public life.
Kabiyesi, our relationship goes beyond protocol and official courtesies. You have become a trusted counsellor whose wisdom I lean on, whose sincerity I rely upon, and whose loyalty I hold dear.
There are very few people one can speak to with complete openness. You are that person to me. In moments of weighty decisions and in seasons of quiet reflection, your counsel has been steady, honest, and invaluable.
Your throne carries dignity, and your heart reflects compassion and strength. That is why my family, friends, and members of my staff hold you in such high regard. They see, as I do, the depth of your character and the purity of your intentions.
As you mark another year, I pray that Almighty God grants you long life, sound health, and continued wisdom. May your reign grow even more impactful, and may peace and prosperity continue to flourish in the Upenmen Kingdom.
I remain deeply grateful for your constant support and royal guidance.
Happy birthday, Kabiyesi.

Yesterday, I joined Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa at the passing-out parade fifth batch of the Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun), where 500 new operatives were inducted.
Their induction once again underscores our firm position that the security of lives and property in Ondo State is non-negotiable.
These operatives completed rigorous training in intelligence gathering, tactical operations, human rights, inter-agency collaboration and the Omoluabi ethos that defines us as a people, and are stepping forward as disciplined and law-guided guardians of our communities.
We will continue to strengthen Amotekun through improved welfare, equipment and operational support as we secure every part of our state under the agenda.
