NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF ESTATE SURVEYORS AND VALUERS VISITS FHA TO MARK VALUATION DAY

Federal Housing Authority, 5th May, 2026, received the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV)team as part of activities marking this year’s Valuation Day.

The visit was aimed at creating awareness on the importance of property valuation, while creating broader awareness of its role in effective asset management and decision-making.

Speaking during the visit, General Manager, Property Management, Mrs. Acholonu Obiageri, highlighted that FHA has a strong base of professional valuers and that Management has consistently ensured the deployment of these professionals in carrying out valuation functions.
She also added that the Authority’s leadership remains committed to leveraging professional expertise to enhance operational efficiency and asset management.

Earlier on, the President of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Bature Ali Muhammad noted that valuation remains a fundamental tool for determining the true worth of assets, including land, buildings, and infrastructure.

The President highlighted that the ongoing awareness campaign is designed to reinforce the role of estate surveyors and valuers as the recognized professionals responsible for conducting accurate and reliable valuations across all asset classes.

MD ADDRESSES STAFF ON WORKERS' DAY

Managing Director/CEO Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, Friday, May 1st, 2026, addressed the staff of the Authority in commemoration of Workers’ Day.
In his address, he applauded their dedication, resilience, and contributions to the growth of the Authority, describing the workforce as the backbone of the Authority, noting that their commitment has sustained industrial harmony and driven notable achievements under his leadership, particularly in improving the Authority’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and expanding its operational footprint across several states.

Reflecting on the past year, the MD highlighted key milestones that have brought the Authority into the national spotlight. He disclosed that an aggressive land acquisition drive has been undertaken across 28 states to strengthen the Authority’s land bank, with groundbreaking ceremonies already successfully conducted in at least four states.

Hon. Ojo also noted that Management’s continued focus on staff welfare, including the prompt payment of salaries and allowances, as well as the procurement of a Group Life Assurance Policy and timely remittance of statutory deductions. He also emphasized ongoing efforts in staff training to strengthen capacity and enhance productivity.

He urged staff to remain dedicated and continue working collectively towards the realization of the Authority’s vision and mission.

FHA ORGANIZES TWO-DAY MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP ON HOUSING DELIVERY IN NIGERIA

As part of its commitment to institutional strengthening, Federal Housing Authority recently organized a two-day workshop for its senior management staff at The C Rollins Hotel and Towers, Abuja. Themed "Transforming Housing Delivery in Nigeria: Leadership, Policy, and Sustainable Partnerships," the workshop was held in partnership with Thrive E-Learning Resource Limited.

The workshop featured sessions on Leadership, Affordable Housing Models and Urban Development, Public-Private Partnerships in Housing, and Policy and Regulatory Frameworks. It equipped senior management staff with practical strategies to strengthen governance, build capacity, and drive sustainable housing solutions across Nigeria.

FHA SET TO COMMISSION 336-UNIT BWARI HOUSING ESTATE

The Management of the Federal Housing Authority, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, recently carried out an inspection visit to the Bwari Housing Estate, which is set to be commissioned in the second half of the year, marking a significant milestone in the Authority’s commitment to delivering affordable homes to Nigerians.

During the inspection, the management team assessed the level of readiness and quality of work, expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far.

This development aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Housing agenda, which aims to reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit and improve living standards.

The Managing Director thanked the staff, contractors, and Management for their dedication, teamwork, and professionalism in bringing the project to fruition. He also extended gratitude to Mr President for the opportunity to serve and for the continued support in advancing the housing sector.

FHA READY FOR RENEWED HOPE HOUSING PROJECTS — MD/CEO

The Managing Director and Chief Executive, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, has affirmed that the Federal Housing Authority is now ready to commence the construction of the Renewed Hope Housing Estates across Nigeria.

This assertion was made during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Renewed Hope Housing Estate in Umuahia, Abia State.

According to Hon. Ojo, “This event is our way of cementing our commitment to realizing the construction of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s initiated Renewed Hope Housing Programme in all the states of Nigeria.”

In his remarks, the Abia State Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, thanked the MD and his team for their continued interest in partnering with Abia State.
He described Hon. Ojo as honest, upright, and hardworking.
