BOUND TO THE ALPHA’S HEART

Episode 14 — The Wolf Behind the Seal

Written by Isabella

— Narrator’s POV —

Aria stood in complete darkness.

There was no temple.

No warriors.

No Crimson Fang.

No Kael.

Only silence.

Then—

A low growl echoed behind her.

Aria slowly turned.

Two amber eyes appeared through the darkness.

A massive black wolf stepped forward.

Its fur shimmered faintly beneath the strange blue light surrounding them.

Aria immediately knew him.

“Kael's wolf.”

The wolf stared at her.

“You came for him.”

Aria nodded.

“I won't leave without him.”

The wolf lowered its head.

“Then you must understand what you are risking.”

Aria looked around.

Chains of glowing silver energy wrapped around the wolf's body, disappearing into the darkness behind him.

“What are those?”

“The seal.”

Aria moved closer.

“Why did it separate you from Kael?”

The wolf's eyes darkened.

“Because the Black Alpha is the key.”

Aria touched one of the chains.

It burned against her fingers.

She pulled her hand away.

“Then I'll break them.”

The wolf suddenly growled.

“If you break the chains, the seal will weaken.”

“I don't care.”

“The Guardian will awaken.”

Aria hesitated.

Outside the seal, Kael was still fighting for his wolf.

She could feel his pain.

She could feel the emptiness inside him.

“He's losing himself.”

“And you may lose yourself trying to save him.”

Aria looked at the wolf.

“Then I'll take the risk.”

The first chain began glowing.

Aria placed her palm against it.

Her Moon-Born mark ignited.

The darkness trembled.

Outside—

Kael suddenly lifted his head.

His eyes widened.

“I can hear her.”

His mother rushed toward him.

“Aria?”

Kael nodded.

“She is inside the seal.”

Ronan's expression changed.

“Impossible.”

The Guardian turned toward him.

“The Moon-Born has entered the place where no living soul should walk.”

Ronan immediately raised his weapon.

“Then kill the Black Alpha before she returns.”

The Crimson Fang warriors charged.

Kael slowly stood.

His legs were shaking.

His wolf was still gone.

But something inside him had changed.

He looked toward the glowing seal.

“I'm coming for you, Aria.”

Inside the darkness, Aria pulled harder against the first chain.

A crack appeared.

The wolf watched her carefully.

“Once you break this, there is no returning to what you were.”

Aria gritted her teeth.

“I already lost everything when Kael lost his wolf.”

She pulled again.

The chain shattered.

A deafening howl exploded through the darkness.

Outside, Kael suddenly screamed as a wave of power struck his chest.

His blue mark blazed across his skin.

The entire temple shook.

The Guardian raised its head.

“One chain is broken.”

Ronan stepped backward.

“No…”

A second chain began glowing.

But this time, something moved behind it.

Aria froze.

A shadow slowly emerged from the darkness.

It looked like a woman.

Long hair.

A familiar face.

Aria's breath caught.

“Mother?”

The woman slowly lifted her head.

But her eyes were completely black.

And when she spoke, it wasn't her mother's voice.

“You should never have come here.”

Aria stepped backward.

The second chain snapped halfway.

The woman smiled.

“Now the seal knows your name.”

BOUND TO THE ALPHA’S HEART

Episode 13 — The Wolf Within

Written by Isabella

— Narrator’s POV —

“My wolf is gone.”

Kael's words silenced Aria.

For a moment, she simply stared at him.

Then she shook her head.

“No.”

Kael looked at her.

“Aria—”

“No,” she repeated, dropping beside him. “I won't accept that.”

His breathing was uneven.

He pressed a hand against his chest as though he could somehow reach the wolf that had always lived inside him.

“I can't hear him.”

Aria's heart tightened.

His wolf had always been part of him.

His strength.

His instinct.

His other half.

And now there was only silence.

Behind them, the Final Seal continued to glow.

The enormous Guardian watched them without moving.

“Can you bring him back?” Aria demanded.

The Guardian's golden eyes narrowed.

“The wolf was not taken.”

“Then where is it?”

“Beyond the seal.”

Kael looked up sharply.

“What?”

“The Final Seal has separated the Black Alpha from his wolf.”

Ronan slowly smiled.

“Then break the seal.”

Kael immediately shook his head.

“No.”

Ronan laughed.

“You heard the creature. Your wolf is behind it.”

Aria looked at the crack.

She could feel something.

A faint heartbeat.

Not hers.

Not Kael's.

A wolf.

Far away.

But still alive.

“I can hear him,” she whispered.

Kael stared at her.

“You can?”

Aria nodded.

“He's calling.”

The blue mark on her wrist suddenly burned.

Light traveled from her hand toward Kael's chest.

Kael gasped.

For one brief second, a deep wolf's howl echoed through the chamber.

Everyone froze.

Aria's eyes widened.

“There!”

The Guardian lowered its head.

“The Moon-Born can reach what the key cannot.”

Ronan's expression darkened.

“Stop her!”

The Crimson Fang warriors rushed forward.

Kael tried to stand.

But his legs weakened.

Aria caught him.

“Stay here.”

“I won't let you go alone.”

“You don't have your wolf.”

His eyes hardened.

“I still have me.”

Aria stared at him.

Then she gave him a small, determined smile.

“Then trust me.”

Before Kael could answer, Aria stepped toward the Final Seal.

The chamber trembled.

Her mother shouted from behind her.

“Aria, don't!”

Aria stopped.

Her mother ran toward her.

“If you enter that connection, the Guardian may see you as part of the seal.”

Aria looked at Kael.

Then at the glowing crack.

“I don't care.”

“You could lose yourself.”

Aria's eyes filled with determination.

“Then I'll find my way back.”

She placed her glowing hand against the crack.

The entire chamber exploded with light.

Kael shouted her name.

Aria disappeared.

Not physically.

Her body remained standing before the seal.

But her consciousness was pulled somewhere else.

A vast darkness surrounded her.

Then she heard breathing.

Slow.

Heavy.

Familiar.

Aria turned.

Two amber eyes appeared in the darkness.

A massive black wolf stepped out of the shadows.

It looked exactly like Kael's wolf.

But it was trapped behind a wall of ancient chains.

Aria moved closer.

“Kael's wolf?”

The wolf lifted its head.

Then it spoke inside her mind.

“He is calling me.”

Aria reached toward the chains.

“They won't hold you forever.”

The wolf stared at her.

“Only the Moon-Born can open them.”

Aria touched the first chain.

It shattered.

The entire darkness shook.

Outside the vision, Kael suddenly dropped to his knees.

His eyes widened.

He heard something.

A distant howl.

His wolf.

For the first time since the separation...

Kael smiled.

But then the Guardian's voice thundered through the chamber.

“One chain has broken.”

The Final Seal cracked again.

“Two remain.”

And deep beneath the mountain...

something else began to wake.

BOUND TO THE ALPHA’S HEART

Episode 12 — The First Crack

Written by Isabella

— Narrator’s POV —

The crack across the Final Seal widened.

A deep rumble shook the entire chamber.

Dust fell from the ancient ceiling as blue-white light poured through the fracture beneath Aria and Kael.

Aria stumbled backward.

“Kael!”

He caught himself against the stone wall, his hand gripping his chest.

His face had suddenly gone pale.

“Something’s wrong,” Ethan said, rushing toward him.

Kael looked down at his hand.

The blue mark was burning brighter than before.

Then he heard a growl.

Not from the Guardian.

Not from Ronan.

It came from inside him.

Kael froze.

His wolf was restless.

Panicked.

The seal.

The voice echoed inside his mind.

It knows us.

Kael clenched his jaw.

“What does that mean?” Aria asked.

Before he could answer, the Guardian lifted its enormous head.

Its golden eyes locked onto Kael.

“The key has awakened,” the ancient creature said.

Ronan smiled from across the chamber.

“And now,” he whispered, “the door can finally be opened.”

He raised his hand.

The Crimson Fang warriors immediately moved forward.

“Protect Aria!” Kael ordered.

Ethan and Rowan stepped in front of her.

The warriors charged.

The chamber erupted into chaos.

Steel struck against steel as the Blackwood warriors fought the Crimson Fang. The sound of claws, growls, and crashing stone filled the underground temple.

But Aria couldn't move.

Her eyes remained fixed on the crack.

Something was looking back at her.

A faint golden eye appeared behind the glowing fracture.

Her heart stopped.

“It's awake.”

Kael turned toward her.

“Aria, step away from the seal!”

She shook her head.

“I don't think it wants to hurt me.”

The eye disappeared.

Then a voice whispered through the chamber.

“Moon-Born.”

Aria's mark glowed.

“Come closer.”

Kael immediately grabbed her wrist.

“No.”

The moment his fingers touched her, both their marks flashed.

The crack suddenly stopped spreading.

Everyone froze.

Even Ronan's smile disappeared.

Kael stared at their connected marks.

“It stopped.”

Aria looked at him.

“Because of you.”

The Guardian lowered its head.

“The Moon-Born carries the power.”

Its golden eyes shifted toward Kael.

“And the Black Alpha carries the key.”

Ronan stepped forward angrily.

“Then take the key from him!”

The Crimson Fang warriors surrounded Kael.

Aria's eyes widened.

“Kael!”

Kael pushed Aria behind him.

His eyes slowly changed.

Amber.

Bright.

Dangerous.

“Come and try.”

The warriors attacked.

Kael moved faster than any of them expected.

But after the third strike, he suddenly dropped to one knee.

He gasped.

His wolf disappeared from his senses.

For the first time in his life...

Kael felt completely alone inside his own mind.

“No...” he whispered.

Aria rushed toward him.

“Kael?”

He looked up at her.

Fear flickered across his face.

“My wolf is gone.”

Aria froze.

Behind them, the Final Seal gave another terrible crack.

And the Guardian spoke one final warning.

“If the seal breaks completely, the Black Alpha may never find his wolf again.”

BOUND TO THE ALPHA’S HEART

Episode 11 — The Black Alpha’s Secret

Written by Isabella

—

The entire chamber fell silent.

Kael stared at his hand.

A glowing crescent-shaped mark had appeared across his palm.

It looked almost identical to the symbol on Aria's wrist.

But there was something different about it.

Aria's mark glowed silver.

Kael's burned with a deep blue light.

The two marks pulsed at the same time.

Once.

Twice.

Then—

BOOM!

A wave of energy swept through the chamber.

Everyone stumbled backward.

Kael immediately reached for Aria.

The moment their hands touched, the energy stopped.

The ancient Guardian lifted its enormous head.

Its golden eyes remained fixed on them.

Then it spoke.

“The key has awakened.”

Kael's expression hardened.

“What key?”

The Guardian didn't answer.

Instead, the ancient symbols surrounding them began changing.

A large image appeared across the stone wall.

It showed a woman surrounded by silver light.

Beside her stood a warrior dressed in black.

Between them was a massive wolf.

Aria stared at the image.

“That woman…”

Her mother stepped forward.

“She was the first Moon-Born.”

Aria looked at the warrior.

“And him?”

Her father answered quietly.

“The first Black Alpha.”

Kael stared at the carving.

“What does this have to do with us?”

The Guardian's eyes flashed.

“Everything.”

A deep vibration moved through the mountain.

Ronan slowly stepped forward.

“So the prophecy was true.”

Kael turned toward him.

“You knew about this?”

Ronan smiled.

“I knew enough.”

Kael's voice became threatening.

“Then start talking.”

Ronan looked toward Aria.

“The Moon-Born carries the power.”

Then he looked at Kael.

“The Black Alpha carries the key.”

Kael frowned.

“The key to what?”

Ronan's smile faded.

“The Final Seal.”

Aria's heart sank.

Her father immediately stepped between them.

“Don't listen to him.”

Ronan laughed.

“You've spent twenty-three years hiding the truth from your daughter.”

His eyes narrowed.

“But you can't hide it anymore.”

Aria looked at her father.

“What truth?”

Her father remained silent.

“Dad.”

Still nothing.

“Tell me!”

Her father finally sighed.

“The Black Alpha isn't only a protector of the Moon-Born.”

He looked at Kael.

“He is the one who can either strengthen the Final Seal…”

He paused.

“…or destroy it.”

Kael's expression changed.

“So my bloodline has been connected to this Guardian all along?”

“Yes.”

“Why didn't anyone tell me?”

“Because no Black Alpha has awakened the key in more than a century.”

Kael looked at his hand.

“And now I have.”

His father—no, Aria's father—nodded.

“Because Aria has awakened the Moon-Born power.”

Aria looked between them.

“So our bond caused this.”

Her mother shook her head.

“Not exactly.”

“What do you mean?”

“The bond didn't create the power.”

She looked at Kael.

“It activated what was already inside both of you.”

Kael stared at Aria.

For the first time, the meaning of their connection felt far more dangerous than either of them had imagined.

Then Ronan suddenly raised his hand.

“Enough.”

Dark energy began gathering around his body.

Kael immediately drew his sword.

Ronan's warriors moved forward.

The Blackwood warriors raised their weapons.

The ancient Guardian growled.

Ronan looked at Aria.

“You have no idea what you are.”

Aria stood her ground.

“Then tell me.”

“You are the final Moon-Born.”

He took another step.

“And the Guardian has chosen you.”

Ronan pointed toward Kael.

“But him?”

His expression twisted into something darker.

“He was chosen for another purpose.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“What purpose?”

Ronan smiled.

“To open the Final Seal.”

The chamber shook.

Aria's mother suddenly shouted,

“Ronan, stop!”

But it was too late.

Ronan's hand slammed against the stone floor.

A wave of dark energy raced across the ancient symbols.

The Guardian roared.

Kael's mark suddenly flared.

Aria's mark answered.

The connection between them became stronger.

Kael dropped to one knee.

“Kael!”

Aria rushed toward him.

The moment she touched his shoulder, the pain stopped.

Kael looked up at her.

Their eyes met.

For several seconds, neither moved.

Then the Guardian spoke.

“The key cannot be forced.”

Ronan looked furious.

“What did you say?”

“The Black Alpha must choose.”

Ronan's expression darkened.

“Choose what?”

The Guardian's gaze shifted toward Kael.

“Whether he will protect the Moon-Born…”

Its golden eyes moved toward Aria.

“…or claim the power for himself.”

Kael slowly stood.

“I don't want her power.”

Ronan laughed.

“You don't even understand what you're saying.”

Kael's voice became cold.

“I don't need to.”

He stepped in front of Aria.

“I know one thing.”

His eyes locked onto Ronan.

“You're not touching her.”

Aria stared at Kael.

Something inside her shifted.

The man who had rejected her at the Moon Ceremony was now standing between her and an entire army.

But before she could speak, her father's voice suddenly broke the silence.

“Kael…”

Kael turned.

Her father was staring at the mark on his hand.

“There is one more thing you need to know.”

Kael's expression tightened.

“What?”

Her father looked at Aria.

Then back at Kael.

“The key has a price.”

Aria's heart dropped.

“What price?”

Her father hesitated.

“The Black Alpha must give something to the Moon-Born before the Final Seal can be opened.”

Kael frowned.

“What?”

Her father looked toward the ancient Guardian.

“His wolf.”

Silence.

Kael's eyes widened.

“My wolf?”

His father nodded.

“If the Final Seal is ever opened…”

He swallowed.

“The Black Alpha may lose his wolf forever.”

Aria immediately shook her head.

“No.”

Everyone turned toward her.

She looked at Kael.

“We won't open it.”

The Guardian suddenly raised its head.

“That decision may no longer belong to you.”

Aria froze.

A deafening roar came from beneath the mountain.

The floor cracked again.

Ronan's expression suddenly changed.

He looked toward the darkness below.

“What is that?”

The Guardian turned toward him.

For the first time, fear appeared in Ronan's eyes.

Something enormous was moving beneath the temple.

The ancient voice echoed through the chamber.

“The Final Seal has begun to break.”

Aria grabbed Kael's hand.

His blue mark immediately connected with her silver one.

A blinding light filled the chamber.

And somewhere beneath them…

the first crack appeared in the Final Seal.

🐺BOUND TO THE ALPHA’S HEART ❤️

Episode 10 — The Awakening

Written by Isabella

The mountain trembled.

A deafening roar came from beneath the temple, sending a wave of cold air through the chamber.

Aria stood frozen at the center of the glowing symbols.

Silver light surrounded her feet.

Her Moon-Born mark burned brighter than it ever had before.

Kael immediately moved toward her.

“Aria!”

He reached for her hand.

The moment his fingers touched hers, a powerful surge of energy rushed through both of them.

Kael stumbled backward.

Aria gasped.

For one brief second, their eyes met.

Something flashed between them.

Not words.

Not memories.

Something deeper.

Kael suddenly saw a vision.

A woman standing beneath a full moon.

A young Aria being carried through a forest.

His own family standing beside an ancient stone altar.

And a massive shadow beneath the mountain.

Then the vision disappeared.

Kael stared at Aria.

“What was that?”

Aria shook her head.

“I don't know.”

Her father looked terrified.

“You saw it too.”

Kael turned toward him.

“You knew this would happen.”

“I suspected it.”

“That's not good enough.”

Before her father could answer, Ronan laughed from across the chamber.

“You're finally beginning to understand, Alpha.”

Kael's eyes hardened.

“Stay out of this.”

Ronan stepped closer.

“You think your bond with her is a coincidence?”

Kael said nothing.

Ronan's gaze shifted toward Aria.

“The Moon-Born doesn't simply awaken because she reaches a certain age.”

Aria looked at him.

“Then why did mine awaken now?”

“Because you met him.”

Ronan pointed toward Kael.

“The Black Alpha.”

Aria's expression changed.

Kael stepped between them.

“Don't listen to him.”

Ronan smiled.

“Ask your parents.”

Aria turned toward her mother and father.

Neither spoke.

Her heart sank.

“You knew.”

Her mother looked at her sadly.

“We knew the bond would awaken something.”

“But you never told me.”

“We were afraid.”

“Afraid of what?”

Her father answered.

“Of what would happen if the bond became complete.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“What happens?”

Her father looked at him.

“If the Moon-Born and the Black Alpha fully accept their bond, the ancient power beneath this mountain will awaken.”

Silence.

Aria slowly looked at Kael.

“And if we don't?”

Her father hesitated.

“The power remains asleep.”

Ronan shook his head.

“Not anymore.”

The ground suddenly shook again.

A crack of silver light spread across the floor.

The Guardian lifted its head and released a powerful howl.

The ancient symbols around the chamber began moving.

One by one, they formed a circle around Aria and Kael.

Kael tried to step away.

The symbols followed him.

He looked down.

“What is happening?”

Her mother whispered,

“The bond is choosing.”

Aria's heart raced.

“No.”

She stepped backward.

The symbols moved with her.

“I don't want this.”

Kael looked at her.

Neither of them had chosen this.

Their first meeting had ended with rejection.

Yet somehow, destiny had brought them here.

Ronan's smile disappeared.

For the first time, genuine concern crossed his face.

“No…”

Aria noticed.

“What?”

Ronan stared at the glowing floor.

“The seal is opening too quickly.”

Her father immediately looked toward the ancient staircase.

“Everyone out!”

Kael grabbed Aria's hand.

“Move!”

They began running toward the entrance.

But before they could reach it—

BOOM!

A wall of silver energy erupted across the doorway.

Everyone stopped.

They were trapped.

Ethan rushed toward the barrier and tried to touch it.

The moment his hand approached, the energy pushed him backward.

“Alpha!”

Kael looked around.

“Everyone stay calm.”

Ronan stepped toward the barrier.

His expression had become serious.

“It's too late.”

Kael glared at him.

“What did you do?”

Ronan shook his head.

“This wasn't me.”

Another tremor shook the chamber.

The ancient altar began rising from the floor.

Beneath it was a circular stone door covered in hundreds of symbols.

Aria stared at it.

She suddenly felt a strange pull in her chest.

Her wolf whispered:

That is where it sleeps.

Aria took a step forward.

Kael caught her wrist.

“Don't.”

She looked at him.

“I can hear it.”

“Hear what?”

“The thing beneath us.”

Her voice trembled.

“It knows my name.”

Her father moved toward her.

“Aria, listen to me.”

She looked at him.

“Tell me the truth.”

He stopped.

“All of it.”

Her father exchanged a glance with her mother.

Then he finally nodded.

“The ancient power beneath this mountain isn't a creature.”

Aria waited.

“It is the first Moon Guardian.”

Kael frowned.

“The first?”

Her father nodded.

“Before the packs existed, the Moon Goddess created a guardian to protect the balance between the supernatural world and humanity.”

“What happened to it?”

“The guardian became too powerful.”

Her mother continued.

“It could no longer distinguish between those who threatened the balance and those who simply stood in its way.”

“So it was sealed?”

“Yes.”

“By who?”

Her father looked at Aria.

“The first Moon-Born.”

Aria's eyes widened.

“And my family has guarded the seal ever since.”

Her mother nodded.

“Until I broke the first seal twenty-three years ago.”

Aria stared at her.

“Why?”

Her mother looked down.

“To save your life.”

The answer stunned everyone.

Ronan stepped forward.

“She's lying.”

Aria looked at him.

Ronan's voice became colder.

“Your mother didn't break the seal to save you.”

He pointed toward Aria.

“She broke it because the Guardian chose you before you were even born.”

Her mother shook her head.

“Don't listen to him.”

Ronan continued.

“Your mother knew the Guardian would eventually call for you.”

Aria's face tightened.

“Why?”

Ronan looked directly into her eyes.

“Because you aren't simply the next Moon-Born.”

The chamber became silent.

“What am I?”

Ronan's answer came slowly.

“You are the final one.”

The words seemed to stop time.

Aria stared at him.

“The final Moon-Born?”

Ronan nodded.

“And when your power fully awakens…”

He looked toward Kael.

“…the old order will disappear.”

Suddenly, the stone door beneath the altar began opening.

A brilliant silver light poured from the darkness.

The Guardian lowered itself.

Every wolf outside the temple began howling at once.

Kael tightened his grip on his sword.

Aria's mark blazed.

Then a deep voice echoed from beneath the mountain.

“Moon-Born…”

Aria froze.

The voice continued.

“Why have you brought the Black Alpha?”

Kael looked at Aria.

Her eyes widened.

Neither of them understood.

Then the voice spoke again.

“He was never meant to be your protector.”

The chamber went silent.

Kael's expression hardened.

“Then what am I?”

The ancient voice answered:

“You are the key.”

The silver light exploded across the chamber.

And for the first time, the mark on Aria's wrist appeared on Kael's hand too.

Episode 9 — The Beast Beneath the Mountain

The creature took another step.

Its enormous golden eyes remained fixed on Aria.

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

The ancient staircase seemed to disappear into endless darkness behind it.

Kael stood directly in front of Aria, his sword firmly gripped in his hand.

His entire body was tense.

The Alpha inside him was demanding that he protect his mate.

But the word still unsettled him.

Mate.

He had rejected Aria.

Yet every instinct inside him continued to pull him toward her.

Behind them, Aria's father held his weapon tightly.

His face had lost all color.

“Don't attack it,” he warned.

Kael glanced back.

“You know what that is?”

Her father nodded slowly.

“I know what it was called.”

The creature stepped forward again.

Its massive silhouette became clearer beneath the faint glow of the runes.

It wasn't entirely a wolf.

It wasn't entirely human either.

Its body carried the shape of an ancient wolf, but strange silver markings covered its dark fur.

A crescent-shaped symbol burned between its eyes.

Aria's mother whispered,

“The Guardian.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“The Guardian of the Moon Chamber?”

She nodded.

“It was created to protect the Moon-Born.”

Aria stared at the creature.

“Then why does it look like it's going to attack us?”

Her mother shook her head.

“It isn't.”

The creature suddenly lowered its head.

Then it looked directly at Aria.

The glowing mark on Aria's wrist responded.

A bright silver light spread across her skin.

The creature slowly bowed.

Everyone stared in shock.

Kael lowered his sword slightly.

Aria's father whispered,

“It recognizes her.”

The creature released a deep rumbling sound.

Aria's wolf answered from within.

Go to it.

Aria hesitated.

Kael immediately turned toward her.

“No.”

She looked at him.

“Kael—”

“Whatever that thing is, you aren't going near it.”

Her father stepped forward.

“She may have to.”

Kael turned sharply.

“You keep saying that.”

His voice was cold.

“But you still haven't told us everything.”

Aria's father stared at him.

Kael stepped closer.

“What happened twenty-three years ago?”

Silence.

Aria looked at her father.

“Yes.”

Her voice was quieter.

“Tell me.”

Her father closed his eyes briefly.

Then he finally spoke.

“Twenty-three years ago, the Crimson Fang discovered that your mother had given birth to a child.”

Aria's eyes widened.

“They knew about me?”

“They knew there was a child.”

Her father continued.

“But they didn't know where you were.”

Aria's mother lowered her head.

“The prophecy had already begun to spread among the old packs.”

Kael looked at her.

“What prophecy?”

Aria's father answered.

“The Moon-Born would return when the blood of the Black Alpha and the Moon-Born crossed paths.”

Kael's expression changed.

His eyes slowly moved toward Aria.

“That means…”

“Yes,” her father said.

“The prophecy wasn't talking about some distant future.”

He looked at Aria.

“It was talking about her.”

The chamber fell silent.

Aria stared at the ancient symbols around her.

“And Kael?”

Her father looked at the Alpha.

“The Black Alpha.”

Kael's jaw tightened.

“So our meeting was part of the prophecy?”

“No.”

Her father shook his head.

“The prophecy predicted that you would meet.”

He paused.

“But it never said you would accept the bond.”

Aria's expression fell.

Kael looked away.

For the first time, guilt crossed his face.

Aria noticed.

But before either of them could speak—

A deafening howl exploded from the tunnel above.

The walls shook.

Ethan's voice suddenly echoed from the passage.

“Alpha!”

Kael immediately turned.

Ethan appeared at the top of the staircase, breathing heavily.

“They've broken through the outer chamber.”

“How many?”

“Dozens.”

Kael's expression hardened.

“Where are the warriors?”

“Fighting them.”

Another roar echoed through the temple.

Ethan looked toward the creature.

His face changed.

“What is that?”

Kael didn't answer.

His eyes remained fixed on the approaching enemy.

Then a voice echoed from the darkness behind Ethan.

“Aria Moon.”

Everyone froze.

A man's footsteps slowly approached.

One step.

Then another.

A tall figure appeared through the smoke.

He wore a dark crimson cloak.

His eyes were cold.

A scar ran across one side of his face.

Aria's father immediately raised his sword.

“Ronan.”

The man's lips curved into a small smile.

“So you remember me.”

Aria's heart began racing.

Ronan.

The leader of the Crimson Fang.

The man her parents had spent years running from.

Ronan's eyes moved past everyone.

Then they settled on Aria.

“There you are.”

Kael stepped in front of her.

“You're not taking her.”

Ronan laughed quietly.

“You still don't understand, Alpha.”

His gaze shifted toward the ancient creature.

“We don't want to take her.”

Kael's eyes narrowed.

“Then what do you want?”

Ronan pointed toward the glowing mark on Aria's wrist.

“We want her to finish what her mother started.”

Aria's mother stepped forward.

“No.”

Ronan smiled.

“You ran for twenty-three years.”

His gaze hardened.

“But you couldn't run forever.”

Aria looked at her mother.

“What did you start?”

Her mother didn't answer.

Ronan laughed.

“Your mother opened the first seal.”

Aria's face went pale.

“And you…”

He looked directly at her.

“…are the one who can open the final one.”

The Guardian suddenly growled.

The entire chamber trembled.

Ronan looked at it.

“Even the Guardian knows the truth.”

Aria's mark suddenly blazed brighter.

A sharp wave of energy erupted from her body.

Everyone stepped backward.

Kael reached for her.

“Aria!”

But before he could touch her, the ancient floor beneath her feet began glowing.

One symbol.

Then another.

Then dozens.

The same symbols appeared across the walls.

Her father stared in horror.

“No…”

Kael looked at him.

“What?”

Her father whispered,

“The chamber has chosen.”

A deep rumbling sound came from beneath the temple.

Ronan's smile disappeared.

The Guardian suddenly turned toward the floor.

Then it howled.

The sound was so powerful that every torch went out.

Aria looked down.

A crack appeared beneath her feet.

Cold silver light poured through it.

Something enormous moved beneath the stone.

Her wolf whispered inside her mind.

It is awake.

Aria's eyes widened.

“What is awake?”

Her father looked at her with fear in his eyes.

“The thing the Moon-Born was created to keep asleep.”

The ground suddenly exploded with silver light.

And from somewhere deep beneath the mountain…

something answered Aria's call.
