PRESIDENT TINUBU DECLARES A SECURITY EMERGENCY, ORDERS ARMY, POLICE TO RECRUIT MORE PERSONNEL

Today, in view of the emerging security situation,

I have decided to declare a nationwide security emergency and order additional recruitment into the Armed Forces.
By this declaration, the police and the army are authorised to recruit more personnel. The police will recruit an additional 20,000 officers, bringing the total to 50,000.

Although I had previously approved the nationwide upgrade of police training facilities, the police authorities are, by this statement, authorised to use various National Youth Service Corps camps as training depots.
The officers being withdrawn from VIP guard duties should undergo crash training to debrief them and deliver more efficient police services when deployed to security-challenged areas of the country.

The DSS also has my authority to immediately deploy all the forest guards already trained to flush out the terrorists and bandits lurking in our forests. The agency also has my directive to recruit more men to man the forests. There will be no more hiding places for agents of evil.

My fellow Nigerians, this is a national emergency, and we are responding by deploying more boots on the ground, especially in security-challenged areas. The times require all hands on deck. As Nigerians, we should all get involved in securing our nation.

Let me take this moment to commend our security agencies for working together to secure the release of the 24 schoolgirls in Kebbi and the 38 worshippers in Kwara State. We will continue to sustain the efforts to rescue the remaining students of Catholic School in Niger State and other Nigerians still being held hostage.

To the leadership and rank and file of our Armed Forces, I commend your courage and your sacrifice. This is a challenging moment for our nation and for the military institution itself. I charge you to remain resolute, to restore peace across all theatres of operation, and to uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity. There must be no compromise, no collusion, and no negligence. The Nigerian people are counting on you, and this administration will provide the support you need to succeed.

In addition, our administration will support state governments which have set up security outfits to safeguard their people from the terrorists bent on disrupting our national peace.

I call on the National Assembly to begin reviewing our laws to allow states that require state police to establish them.
States should rethink establishing boarding schools in remote areas without adequate security. Mosques and churches should constantly seek police and other security protection when they gather for prayers, especially in vulnerable areas.

Our administration created the Livestock Ministry to address the persistent clashes between herders and farmers. I call on all herder associations to take advantage of it, end open grazing and surrender illegal weapons. Ranching is now the path forward for sustainable livestock farming and national harmony. The Federal Government, in collaboration with the states, will work with you to solve this problem, once and for all.
I sympathise with the families who have lost their loved ones in recent attacks on soft targets in Kebbi, Borno, Zamfara, Niger, Yobe, and Kwara States. I also pay tribute to our brave soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, including Brigadier-General Musa Uba.

Those who want to test our resolve should never mistake our restraint for weakness. This administration has the courage and determination to keep the country safe and ensure our citizens live in peace.

Fellow Compatriots, I urge you not to give in to fear and never succumb to despair. Let's stand together in purpose and strength to defend our freedom and values. Our administration will continue to guarantee peaceful co-existence and preserve our union. I urge all Nigerians to remain calm and vigilant. Report suspicious activities. Cooperate with security agencies. We are in this fight together, and together we shall win.
May God continue to bless Nigeria and keep our armed forces safe.

For Nigeria, 2026 promises to be a key year in our history with so many landmark initiatives, that will define our future for a very long time, set to kickoff under President Tinubu’s administration.

- The commencement of the transformational Tax Reform Acts which is expected to enhance Nigeria’s economic competitiveness and grow our revenue base.

- The full recapitalization of commercial banks so they can become more viable and provide the needed support for the economy in terms of capital provision; This is expected to also take the Consumer Credit Scheme to the next level as banks get more involved in provision of credits for every day consumption.

- The full recapitalization of the Bank of Agriculture in a bid to improve access to capital for farmers across the country and make agriculture a mainstay in our economy.

- National Census that will not only give us an accurate figure of the population but further enhance database for improved security and economic planning. Data collection will include usage of face recognition, thumbprints and voice recognition technologies.

- Complete transition of our civil service system from a paper-based system to an automated one thereby enhancing transparency and efficiency.

- Full commencement of business activities for the Regional Development Commissions recently established by President Tinubu.

All these and so many other reforms coming next year will not only change our direction as a country but they will influence our future and that of generations yet unborn and therefore, we must continue to believe in this leadership that is fixated on getting the basics right.

As patriots who want the best for our country, we must remain focused on this journey of transformation that matters without letting distractors win over our resilience.

Little challenges here and there like we had this past week will surface but we will overcome it all at the end and the Renewed Hope agenda will become a reality.

Have a great week ahead! For; The Renewed Hope is Certainly Assured šŸ‡³šŸ‡¬šŸš§

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS GOVERNOR UZODIMMA AS RENEWED HOPE AMBASSADOR

Ahead of the national launch of the Federal Government's Ward Development Programme, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State as the Renewed Hope Ambassador.

In his role as ambassador, he will double as the Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation.

With the appointment, which takes immediate effect, Governor Uzodimma will be responsible, in collaboration with the All Progressives Congress leadership and the governors, for evangelising the Tinubu administration's programme.

As Renewed Hope Ambassador, Governor Uzodimma, who also chairs the Progressive Governors Forum, will ensure harmony, inclusiveness and strategic coordination across all levels of the party. He will also be involved in mobilising and engaging people.

He will work with the APC governors, who will also be Ambassadors of Hope.

President Tinubu expects Governor Uzodimma and his colleagues to promote and disseminate the party's achievements and milestones since 2023, thereby reinforcing the message of Renewed Hope nationwide.

President Tinubu took office in May 2023 with a reform agenda that is already yielding positive outcomes for the Nigerian economy.

Inflation, once a nightmare, eased for the seventh month in a row to 16.05 per cent in October. The exchange rate has stabilised. Foreign Exchange reserves reached over $46 billion this month, up from $32 billion and a net reserve of $4 billion inherited in 2023.

Investor confidence in the Nigerian economy is back, with both FDI and Portfolio investments on the increase, with the oil and gas sector a significant beneficiary. The stock market is enjoying an unprecedented boom. The economy is being diversified, with solid minerals playing a pivotal role. The government's liberal educational loan policy has enrolled over 700,000 students. Nigerians do not need to wait longer than one week to get a travel passport.

In a message to the Renewed Hope Ambassador, President Tinubu asked Governor Uzodimma to ensure that Nigerians are aware of and understand the administration's achievements.

My fellow Nigerians,

You will recall that I cancelled my trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to enable me coordinate the security efforts at home.

Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued.

I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State, have been recovered.

I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline.

Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.
