DISTRICT CONVENTION 2026
*Calabar District Center No. 2, Eastern Highway Lane, Calabar, Cross River State*
The atmosphere was charged with faith and expectation as the congregation gathered for the 2026 District Convention. The Superintendent, Rev. L.U. Mbarikit, who spoke on the topic 'THE FOUNDATION THAT STANDS 'took the podium and commenced with a heartfelt gratitude. He extended special appreciation to the Zonal Supervisor, Pastor Unyime Asuquo (the minister in charge of the zone), the Area supervisor and other ministers, the chief elders, other elders, and the entire members of the church for their steadfastness. Noting the tremendous growth, he joyfully declared that this year’s convention was already proving to be far greater than the last.
The spiritual charge was delivered by Superintendent Rev. L.U. Mbarikit. His message centered on the fundamental importance of spiritual stability, reminding the church that no matter how large, magnificent, or ambitious a building may be, its enduring strength depends entirely on its foundation. Without a proper base, no structure can remain standing.
To illustrate this truth, the Man of God shared a sobering observation from his recent visit to the church branch in Akansoko. He recounted seeing a building that had been completely leveled by heavy winds—a structural failure directly caused by a weak foundation. This served as a powerful metaphor for the life of a believer: the storms of life will inevitably blow, and it is only the quality of our spiritual foundation that prevents collapse.
Rev. Mbarikit emphasized that Jesus Christ is the ultimate, unshakeable bedrock. He urged the congregation to continually listen to the voice of the Lord and obey His commandments. Concluding his sermon, he encouraged believers to be glad that their foundation and salvation come exclusively from God, rather than from any earthly source.
The message culminated in powerful prophetic prayers.
