As we are approaching Christmas, let's be responsible for the antibiotics and other steroids usage on our animals to be food sources; poultry, goats, fish, cattle, etc.
Antibiotics resistance results from indiscriminate application and not observing withdrawal period before consumption.
Similarly anabolic steroids used in enhancing fattening has negative consequences when withdrawal period is not observed before consuming the animal products.
Wishing all merry Christmas in advance.

Dear farmers, crops and animals farmers,
An appeal to set the foundation for peaceful coexistence:

You may recall that competition over a land for your respective production activities is the major driver of conflicts in every community. Numerous actions of ours contributed to the actualization of such conflicts. These actions are either committed by omission or commission that are equally avoidable and preventable.
To the crops farmers, land clearing is the cornerstone of the farming activities. It's at this point that conflicts foundations are set by deliberately encroaching the defined territory or mapped land areas meant for other purposes; grazing areas and or stock routes.
To the animals farmers, lustful pasture at irrigated farmland is an attractant that leads to encroachment and subsequent conflicts.
Knowing and understanding such dynamics of the conflict is a step forward towards averting the conflicts.
Prevention and mitigation of the conflict is therefore rest on how each party acts at the identified critical time periods of land clearance for crops farming and restraint of the animals at the peak of pasture shortages.
Act now for safe production season by being a responsible and reasonable FARMERS!!!

Resolving and mitigating Farmers - Herders Conflicts at all levels is a cornerstone of ensuring food security.
In light of the above Agro Rangers unit of the NSCDC in collaboration with IPSCC engaged critical stakeholders of the Agricultural sector in a 2 days workshop where issues bordering on Peace building and social cohesion were discussed.
Media stereotyping that escalate the conflicts needs taming as does Cultural norms and security concerns.
