In fulfillment of my electoral promises and my commitment to attracting meaningful development to Yobe East Senatorial District, I am pleased to inform my constituents that my second Bill on the establishment of Gum Arabic Research Institute, Damaturu has successfully passed its First Reading and is now awaiting Second Reading in the Senate.

The Bill titled "Gum Arabic Research Institute Damaturu (Establishment) Bill, 2025" seeks the establishment of an Institute that promotes the sustainable production, processing, and trade of Gum Arabic. It will also play a crucial role in research and development, expanding the understanding of Gum Arabic's properties and potential uses in various industries.

Yobe State as one of the producers of Gum Arabic in Nigeria will benefit maximally from the Research Institute beside creating jobs for our youths.

This is my second Bill before the Senate in my less than Two years in the upper chamber.

I remain committed to championing this Bill to a logical conclusion to deliver its benefits to my people and reinforce our role in the eradication of youths unemployment in Nigeria.

Yobe State Government Organises First Mini Domestic Trade Fair at Damaturu State's Capital

Theme: "Boosting Economic Activities of the State Through Modern Market Development".


The Yobe State Government, under the leadership of H.E. Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, organises a mini domestic trade fair at Damaturu, the state's capital.

This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Officer of the state's Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Suleiman B. Gimba, on behalf of the ministry and the Yobe State Government.

According to the statement, the trade and minerals fair (Mini Domestic Trade Fair) will commence on 15th of April, 2025, and will end on the 15th of May, 2025, at the Ibrahim Geidam Ultra Modern Market in Damaturu.

This Mini Domestic Trade Fair will further the commitment of Governor Buni to promote economic, trade, industry and technology development and promote modern business activities following the establishment of new modern markets by Governor Buni in major towns of Yobe State.

The Domestic Mini Trade Fair will also provide a full opportunity for businessmen across 17 local government areas and the leadership of 17 local government areas of the state to showcase their natural resources, culture and businesses.

The trade fair will also boost tourism and provide a full opportunity for business relations and discussions on the development of new technologies or exchange of creative skills between the 17 local government areas of the state, and it will provide the authority to enter into agreements for the production or export of natural resources, including consumer goods and agricultural products, to enrich the communities across Yobe State.

This will further strengthen Governor Buni’s commitment to combat food and agricultural resource shortages across Yobe State.

As the statement published, the domestic trade fair is in line with the directives of Yobe State Governor His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni FCIA, CON, COMN, who directed the Hon. Commissioner of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Tourism and Solid Minerals, Rt. Hon. Kaigama Umar, to organise the event.

Also, the statement issued by the ministry's information officer confirmed that:

Ta hanyar matsayinsa na Ministan Harkokin ‘Yan Sanda, ya tsaya tsayin daka don ganin an bai wa matasan Yobe dama a daukar aikin ‘yan sanda. Wannan mataki ya bai wa matasa damar samun aikin da zai inganta rayuwarsu tare da bayar da gudunmawa ga tsaro a Najeriya.

Inganta Tsaro a Yobe da Kewaye

A matsayinsa na tsohon gwamnan Jihar Yobe, Sanata Gaidam yana da cikakken fahimta game da kalubalen tsaro da ke addabar yankin, musamman sakamakon hare-haren ‘yan ta’adda da masu aikata laifuka. Samun karin jami’an ‘yan sanda daga jihar zai taimaka matuka wajen yakar laifuka, tabbatar da doka da oda, da kuma kara inganta tsaro a yankunan da ke fama da matsalolin tsaro.

Samar da Dama Ga Matasa a Police Academy

Nasarar da ya samu wajen shigar da sama da mutum 100 a Police Academy, Wudil, wata gagarumar nasara ce da za ta ba wa matasan Yobe damar samun ingantaccen horo da ilimin aikin ‘yan sanda. Wadanda s**a samu wannan damar za su sami cikakken horo na jiki da na hankali domin su zama kwararrun jami’an ‘yan sanda masu iya sauke nauyin da ke kansu.

Wannan nasara da Sanata Ibrahim Gaidam ya samu na nuna irin kishin da yake da shi wajen bunkasa matasa, inganta tsaro, da tallafa wa cigaban kasa. Kokarinsa ba kawai ya samar da aikin yi ga daruruwan ‘yan asalin Yobe ba, har ma ya kara karfin aikin ‘yan sanda ta hanyar horar da matasa masu jajircewa domin su zama jagororin tsaro a nan gaba.

Wannan nasara ta zama misali ga sauran shugabanni a kasar nan da su mayar da hankali wajen zuba jari a cikin matasa da tsaro, domin samun ci gaban kasa mai dorewa.
