4TH EDITION OF END-OF-THE-YEAR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, ENUGU STATE
I was pleased to be part of the 4th Edition of the End-of-the-Year Football Tournament in Enugu State, a laudable initiative that continues to promote unity, healthy competition, and grassroots sports development across the state.
One of the highlight fixtures was the match between the State Executive Council and the House of Assembly Members, played on Sunday, 18th January 2026, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu. The encounter showcased friendly rivalry, teamwork, and the unifying power of sports among all arms of government.
The tournament, proudly sponsored by the Enugu State Government, reflects the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, to youth empowerment and the use of sports as a tool for social cohesion and development. Events like this also align with the broader push for sports development in the state, including preparations towards the 2026 National Sports Festival.
It was a great opportunity for officials, staff, and supporters to come together, enjoy competitive football, and strengthen the spirit of unity and community in Enugu State.
