At a meeting with the Commissioner of Ministry of Chieftaincy matters and titles on 29/06/2022, the ESMDC Director, Mrs. Caroline Etuk and her team Barr. Collins Onyekwere and Benjamin Aneke, sought a synergy of both organisations for the promotion of peace and the amicable resolution of inter personal and community disputes at the grass roots throughout the State. Top on the agenda for discussion was the prospect of capacity building for traditional rulers to enhance the quality of existing dispute resolution practices handled in their communities.
The Enugu State Multi-Door Courthouse (ESMDC) is a court connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) centre that offers a wide range of disputes resolution services which include mediation, arbitration, conciliation, early neutral evaluation and hybrid processes. The mission of the ESMDC is to provide speedy , cost effective and user friendly access to justice through these ADR mechanisms.
