BUILDING SOLID PARTNERSHIPS FOR BETTER ELUGWU AKWU

I am deeply honoured to have engaged with the vibrant Umuike Youths in a session that reaffirmed our shared ambition for the future of ELUGWU AKWU Youths and the wider community.

The interactive nature of our meeting provided a valuable platform to address topical questions from our youths, ranging from my agenda and personal profile to my modest roles in advancing the betterment of society.

In responding to these questions, I was privileged to dispel long-standing misinformation and outright propaganda that have, in the past, been used to maliign our initiative.

Fully convinced with the facts that the claims of impeding public good were targeted and malicious, this moment of clarity also strengthened our collective resolve to pursue community progress with transparency and unity going forward.

In retrospect, I am most impressed by their courage to place me under the spotlight. This boldness is a clear indication that we are building a partnership that will demand accountability at the grassroots and ensure that leadership remains responsive to the needs of the people.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our DG, Rt. Hon. Ogbonna Ubesie, Engr. Robinson Ibe, other members of my entourage, and the leadership of Umuike and Umuike Youths for their openness, goodwill, and commitment.

I look forward to another fulfilling session with other youth groups as we continue to shape a better Elugwu Akwu for all.

THANK YOU: HEROES OF HEALTH

1.🩺 Our two-day Health Outreach has come to a logical conclusion and I extend heartfelt gratitude to the medical team, planning crew, implementation squad, and our generous donors for the incredible success of the Free Health Outreach in Elugwu-Akwu! You have once again proven the Igbo worldview "IGWEBUIKE". And, I cannot thank you enough, indeed, "mmadụ ka-eji aga".

2. 🫶 This two-day FREE medical mission was more than an event—it was a lifeline. From vital checks to clinical consultations, lab tests, sick calls, and free medications, the outreach touched lives in ways words can scarcely capture.

3. ⚠️ Vital Checks Matter:

Many Lives were touched, revealing Hidden Health Crises. The outreach exposed a growing neglect of routine vital checks. Alarming numbers of residents were diagnosed with high blood pressure, many for the first time (at alarming levels). Thanks to the swift intervention, they were placed on routine medication, potentially averting future complications.

4. 🏠 We Reached the Unreachable:

The home visitation and sick calls were a beacon of compassion, bringing care to bedridden patients across all quarters of Elugwu-Akwu. Remarkably, these visits opened doors to unscheduled patients to receive care at home, many of whom had long suffered in silence. Their inclusion in the exercise was an evidence to the outreach’s flexibility and humanity.

5. 🏥 We Need Functional PHCs:

This outreach revealed the urgent need to rehabilitate our Primary Health Centres so residents can walk in for basic and pocket-friendly or even FREE health checks anytime.

6. 🔄 We Will Keep This Free Health Programme Going:

We will encourage the continuation of this massive programme of bringing healthcare closer—through community venues and home visits. It is effective, essential, and life-saving. The turn-out was overwhelming but many thanks to the various teams that sacrificed so much ensuring that every patient was assessed and treated with dignity.

Hon. Ogbonna Ekene Ubesie for a job well delivered. I have no doubts regarding the positive impacts of this event in the near future, I witnessed myself, the highly organized, professional, and live-saving interventions.
