FR. ALIA DISMISSES POLITICS OF DESTRUCTION
- says he mounted billboards in the hearts of the people

The 2023 Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia Sunday, November 06, 2022 dismissed destructive politics, describing it as a silly act of pi***ng in the wind.

Fr. Alia made this known while delivering a speech at a Thanksgiving Service organized in his honour by Conscience Minds for a New Benue at NKST Church Bristow, Gboko, Benue State.

The powers concerned have denied Fr. Alia and his party supporters access to Police Field and also chased them out of LGEA Primary School, Genyi - Yandev where the organizers of the thanksgiving service have booked to hold a reception for him.

Reacting to the development, Fr. Alia said it is only one man that is rejecting them, the majority of people have accepted them already, and it's the majority that matters.

He added that his billboards and posters are being destroyed in some areas in the state, but he has already mounted billboards in the hearts of the people with bold inscription that Benue people have been misled, maltreated and enslaved, and he wants to liberate them.

"...therefore, you APC, children of God and the entire people of Benue State, I have mounted billboards in your hearts, and the billboards I have mounted in your hearts, I'm writing boldly on it that they have destroyed our state and I'm coming to fix it; we have been misled and maltreated, I want to bring us back; we have been enslaved, I want to liberate us".

Fr. Alia continued that the insults and vituperations against him everywhere, including the social media are being sponsored by one man. "Also, you must have heard that they are insulting Fr. Alia even on the social media, but it's only one man that is insulting me. But there is a saying that, when a people want to destroy you and possibly kill you, they first make you mad".

While calling for a new thinking and new ideologies that will transform Benue State and make life better for the people, Fr. Alia said 2023 will not just be party affairs but a harvest of efforts across board towards fashioning a new and better Benue, even as he gave hope to farmers, civil servants and pensioners and assured them of better days ahead.

Earlier in a sermon, Rev E.I.Gbiligh, Resident Pastor, NKST Bristow underscored the need for thanksgiving saying, thanksgiving is inevitable for everyone but the devil blocks many from giving thanks to God, adding that when your acts are in peace with God, He makes even your enemies to love you.

He advised the honouree to note that, as he moves to take power, he should rember that the secret of God is in those who fear Him. "Instill the fear of God in you, so that God will confide in you. Trust God, work with Him from the beginning to the end".

Rev. Gbiligh added that, " there are attacks but God is going ahead, even though there are scars, everyone chosen by God must have scars" just as he appealed to him to pay workers their wages and pensioners their toils and rewards.
