Educational Visit to OYRTMA Headquarters

We were honoured to receive students from the Department of Transport Planning and Management, Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Oyo State, during their educational (study) visit to the Headquarters of the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA), Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

The visit provided the students with practical insights into traffic management operations, road safety enforcement, and the strategic role of OYRTMA in ensuring orderliness on our roads. Officers of the Authority engaged the students in interactive sessions, sharing professional experiences and highlighting best practices in traffic control and management.

We commend the institution for this initiative, which bridges the gap between academic learning and real-world application, and we encourage the students to remain committed to professionalism and excellence in their chosen field.

🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE: OYO GOVERNMENT DIRECTS MOTORISTS & TRADERS AT IWO ROAD 🚨

The Oyo State Government, through the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority, has directed all motorists and traders operating along major roads around Iwo Road to vacate the roadside immediately and relocate to the government-designated Iwo Road Bus Terminal.

This directive is part of ongoing efforts to: βœ… Restore orderliness
βœ… Reduce traffic congestion
βœ… Improve environmental sanitation

The Chairman of OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba (Rtd), made this known during an enforcement and inspection exercise at the terminal.

According to him, reports revealed that many commercial drivers and traders have abandoned the terminal and returned to roadside operations, causing heavy traffic and disorder in the area.

⚠️ WHY THIS MATTERS:

Roadside trading reduces road space

It increases the risk of accidents

It contributes to traffic gridlock

It defeats the purpose of the government-built terminal

All operators are hereby advised to: πŸ‘‰ Move fully into the Iwo Road Bus Terminal
πŸ‘‰ Comply with government directives
πŸ‘‰ Maintain unity and order in operations

🚫 The government has made it clear that operating outside the designated terminal will not be tolerated.

Let’s work together to keep Ibadan roads safe, clean, and traffic-free.
