Youth Corps members of Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan, under the Education and Environmental CDS group, organized an outreach programme titled โWaste to Wealthโ to advance sustainable waste management and environmental awareness. BCCC-Africa participated, building on its collaboration with the corps during a recent Plastics Awareness training workshop, emphasizing knowledge transfer and community engagement in combating plastic pollution. The event involved secondary school students and Youth Corps members, providing practical training on converting waste into valuable resources and fostering environmental responsibility. Cleaning materials were distributed, certificates issued to participating schools, and a metallic waste collector was presented to the Egbeda Local Government Secretariat to support proper collection of plastics and other waste.

BCCC-Africa wrapped up its final plastics awareness workshop for students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, providing them with the knowledge and practical skills to address plastic pollution and promote sustainability within their communities. The workshop was attended by representatives from the institution, the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, NESREA, RecycleEdge, and FBRA. Students explored the impacts of plastic pollution, learned effective waste management and recycling practices, and discovered practical ways to foster sustainable habits.

On 24 January 2026, BCCC-Africa continued its plastics awareness outreach by hosting a second workshop for students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, aimed at raising awareness about plastic pollution and promoting sustainable practices. The event was attended by representatives of the institution, the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, NESREA, RecycleEdge, and FBRA. Students were educated on plastic pollution, effective waste management, recycling, and practical steps to support sustainability.

On 17th of January 2026, BCCC-Africa conducted its first plastics awareness workshop for students of the Polytechnic, Ibadan, focusing on plastic pollution and other sustainable environmental practices. The event, attended by the Deputy Registrar, representatives from the Oyo State Ministry of Environment, NESREA, RecycleEdge, and FBRA, trained students on plastic pollution, waste management, recycling, and how to promote these practices during their youth service.
