Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS), Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, today joined his revered Royal Father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, during a courtesy visit by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council to the Olubadan Palace at Oke-Aremo, Ibadan.

The delegation, led by the Director-General of the Council, Abdulaziz Yari, featured prominent political leaders, former governors, lawmakers, APC chieftains, members of the Olubadan-in-Council and market women.

Among the dignitaries were former Ogun State Governor, Senator Gbenga Daniel; former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko; former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha; Special Adviser to the President on Digital Information, Sunday Dare; APC gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli; Senator Yunus Akintunde; and other distinguished stakeholders.

The visit formed part of ongoing political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the delegation paying respect to the revered traditional institution of Ibadanland.

The presence of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi further highlighted his engagement with traditional institutions and political stakeholders in Ibadanland and beyond.

As the political landscape gradually takes shape ahead of 2027, JDS Support Group remains committed to promoting constructive engagement, unity and active participation in the democratic process.

Earlier today, the National Leader of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Alhaji Bisi Olopoeni, declared the support of the Oyo State APM for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the governorship ambition of Senator Sharafadeen Alli ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration followed a meeting at her Basorun residence, where Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, was present.

For the JDS Support Group, this development highlights the ongoing political consultations, engagements and alliance-building ahead of the 2027 elections in Oyo State.

May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest and comfort the family, loved ones and the entire Ibadanland traditional institution during this period of loss. Ameen.

YESTERDAY’S UPDATE: JDS ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS, GROUPS AHEAD OF OCTOBER 17 TINUBU DAY

Yesterday was marked by a series of engagements with various religious leaders, professional associations, traders, artisans and security stakeholders as preparations continued for the October 17 Tinubu Day.

The engagements included a brief discussion with leaders of the Tijaniyyah Movement ahead of the forthcoming event, as well as meetings with the Oyo State Bakers Association and the Centre for Petroleum Energy Economics and Law, University of Ibadan, led by Professor Olugbenga Adebanjo Falode.

There was also an engagement with the Iru Ekum Security Network, Ona Ara Command, which extended an invitation to its state inauguration ceremony scheduled to hold at Mapo on October 20.

In addition, a meeting was held with the Asejere Ni Tiwa Traders Group at Gbagi International Market, alongside the Oyo State Traders, Artisans, Market Men and Women Organisation, led by Prince Adeyemi Ojo.

The day’s activities concluded with attendance at the burial rites of the late Olori Balogun of Ibadanland, Alhaja Khadija Ajibola, at the residence of Oba Ajibola in Sanyo, Ibadan.

The engagements provided an opportunity to interact with diverse stakeholders, strengthen relationships and discuss matters of mutual interest, while preparations continue for the October 17 Tinubu Day.
