We Accepted Alao Akala Into APC So That We Can ‘Clean Him Up’ – Abiola Ajimobi

..Abiola Ajimobi, left, with his fellow APC-man, Adebayo Alao Akala...clean-up processes has started, we hope...
The governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has openly announced that the main reason Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala was allowed to cross carpet to All Progressive Party in the state is because the party wants to ‘clean’ him up.

Ajimobi, who was guest on a popular Splash FM Radio Station anchored by Edmond Obilo and monitored by PMParrotng.com in Ibadan on Saturday also said that Akala has been soiled in so many ways and therefore needed to be ‘cleaned up’.

When asked to confirm the rumour making the rounds that he has penciled down one of Akala’s children on his list of commissioners, Ajimobi responded: “Alao Akala’s son will never be in my government, mark my words and I am a man of my words”.

The governor, however, revealed that “I have just decided to not appoint the commissioners yet, some of the ministries functions very well, commissioner are political appointees, policies are not formulated by them, the government with some ministry workers form polices , I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag , they will be appointed at a time I choose, it may even be in the next two years or four years but that won’t happen”.

Speaking on when he will be ready to appoint Local Government Caretaker Committee, Ajimobi responded “We would appoint local government caretaker chairmen this month, all cases in court have been settled. Infact, we are planning to hold the local government election in July, this year.”

While speaking about the recent disagreement he had with the Olubadan in Council over the promotion of senior chiefs, the governor said he was acting strictly on the powers the Nigerian constitution gave him. He announced that he has the powers to remove and install any chief. He said he also has the power to jail anyone of them that runs foul of the laws of the land.

He specifically spoke about the general belief that he stopped the promotion of the high chiefs because of his need to stop his main opponent during the last gubernatorial election, Senator Rashidi Ladoja of Accord Party from becoming the Olubadan of Ibadan.

According to the governor, “I really do not need to stop Ladoja or anybody. I have frustrated him twice in recent times. All I wanted to demonstrate was the fact that there are chieftancy laws in existence and they must be studied and followed at all times. As for Senator Lekan Balogun, he calls me every time. As a matter of fact he sees me every time he wants to see me”.

While addressing the problem of incessant fire outbreaks in the state, the governor said his administration just discovered that most of the fire incidents were engineered by arsonists who were fighting over parcels of land.

He then seized the opportunity to announce that his government is doing everything possible to radically transform and equip the state’s fire service.

Ajimobi also spoke about why salaries are still being owed. “We cannot be consistent in payment of Salaries because the reality is we don’t have the funds”

Oyo Former Governor, Alao-Akala linked with move to APC, meets partys leaders.A former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, is said to be planning to dump the Labour Party, the platform on which he contested the April 11 governorship election, for the All Progressives Congress (APC), any moment from now.Alao-Akala, who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) inDecember last year for the LP, has met with the national leader of the APC, Senator Bola Tinubu, protem chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande and Governor Abiola Ajimobi over the matter. The former governor had been wooed before the general election with Oyo North senatorial ticket by the APC leadership before he moved to the Labour Party which was alreadyhome to a wing of the APC.One of the terms of a deal struck during his meetings with the APCleaders in the last four weeks was that he would be made the leader of the APC in Ogbomosho and nominate the chairmen for the five councils in the zone, as well as get slots in the cabinet of Governor Ajimobi.Rough edges in the deal, Sunday Tribune gathered, were ironed outduring a meeting involving him, Governor Ajimobi and the chairman of the party, Chief Akin Oke, at the instance of the governor in London about two weeks ago.But speaking with Our Source on telephone from the United States,Alao-Akala confirmed that he met with Chief Akande and GovernorAjimobi in Abuja before he left the country, saying what he discussed with the APC leaders was personal. He described his link with a move to the APC as mere speculations, saying "When people don’t see you around, they resort to speculations.Regard it as one of the speculations being spread by people."The decision to hand Alao-Akala the leadership of APC in Ogbomosho is said to be generating ripples in the party, as Chief Oke and the Senator- elect for Oyo North, Abdufatal Buhari, who are from Ogbomosho, are said tobe uncomfortable with the decision. The disagreement, it was gathered, made Governor Ajimobi to schedule ameeting involving Oke, Buhari and himself to the residence of Chief Akande where the protem chairman was said to have appealed to the duo

2015 OYO PDP GUBER TICKET!
# Oyo PDP Congress Successful—Idi-Hong #
Chairman of the PDP ad hoc delegates’ congress
committee, which presided over Monday’s
rescheduled ad hoc ward delegates congress in
Oyo State, Dr Aliyu IdiHong, has declared that
the exercise was 90 per cent successful, putting
paid to insinuations that the congress might be
cancelled for a second time.
This is just as he urged all governorship
aspirants in the party, who might lose out in the
scheme of things after the congress not to take
steps that could jeorpadise the chances of the
party in the 2015 general elections noting that
if they got aggrieved to the point of allowing
the opposition to continue in government, “they
will live to tell the story.”
Idi Hong, who stated these at the Ibadan
Airport, while addressing newsmen, on Tuesday,
said despite reported cases of ambush and
hijack of result sheets, which he noted were
minimal, his committee had got 100 per cent of
the results from the 33 LGAs as at 3 .00p.m. on
Tuesday.
The committee also dispelled insinuations that
an aspirant emerged winner of the congress,
saying it was wrong for any aspirant to declare
himself as winner “because delegates are assets
of the party and do not belong to any aspirant.”
He said: “We received results and more than 90
per cent of them came on the result sheets we
distributed. Generally, you know Ibadan and
Oyo State. So, I think we have even tried our
best and with the support of the security
agencies, the congress complied with the
guidelines and constitution of the party. There
will be complaints, but I don’t think they will
amount to annulling the exercise. Of what use
will that be when primaries will start this
weekend?”
When asked on the next line of action, he said:
“The next line of action is for us to submit the
result in Abuja. Except somebody challenges it,
the results will be used to conduct the
primaries of the party for various elective
positions in the 2015 election beginning from
this Saturday. There may be complaints here and
there but substantially, I think the exercise was
successful.”

Ismaila ashipa wrote: THE OYO PDP CONGRESS THAT NEVER WAS
If by tomorrow Tuesday 25th November, 2014,
the
Rerun Special Ward Congress of the Oyo state
PDP
was not declared inconclusive by the
Hon Idi Hong led Electoral Committee,
I would console myself with the fact that
the Oyo state PDP was not destined to win
the February 28th, 2015 elections.
Truly, a leopard hardly changes its spots.
While the people of Oyo state are still mourning
the lives of innocent citizens, including
policemen,
lost in the rivalry battles amongst the APC
aspirants,
the P**s Deep Pit (PDP) were busy doing what
they knew how to do best: violent congress.
At the Dandaru H/Q of the party today,
it was "eni oriyo o dile'.
Congratulations to the 'jagbas' for
a well executed coup against popular opinion.
I pray they'll be able to jagba from Ajimobi in
2015.
To the Akalas and Makindes, you don't deserve
my sympathy.
You should have remembered the popular
saying that
"he who wants to dine with the devil must own
a long spoon".
Sadly, tomorrow the 25th is my birthday but
the Panti Dara Po (PDP) has given me a
disastrous gift.
Thank God that I am a philosopher.
Come 2015, a cheater must be cheated.
Watch out for "Escorba 2015".
You do me I do you, God no go vex.
