May Allah be pleased with Alhaji Agba. Do you know a record is more valid than a written statement?

There’s no doubt in the debate please. Shaykh Adam was alive when Alhaji Agba said this faa, Kilode ti Babawa Lagege ofi refute claim yen?

Oniwasi Agbaye is a scholar every Adabiyya should strive hard to be like in outlook. A scholar whose erudition, incomparable delivery, knowledge of scholarly history and artistry in poetic eulogy make him an encyclopedia of knowledge.

Yet Baba was only taught by his teacher, His Eminence Sheikh Kamaludeen Al-Adaby, the first Mufti Kabir. Still, some incompetent minds will ask what the achievement of Baba wa Alhaji Agba is, as if the achievement of a scholar ends with writing books.

Baba Ile-Ila, Baba Olukade, Baba Apaokagi and their likes are themselves a testament to the quality of Alhaji Agba's teaching methodology. These were people directly tutored by Alhaji Agba, and the depth of scholarship they carried was not accidental.

No single Arabic school has produced the quality of the older generation of scholars that Zumratul Adabiyya Kamaliyya produced. That is where the madarus miss the point when they reduce a scholar's achievement to the number of books he has written.

If the likes of Oniwasi Agbaye had chosen that path, anyone with an understanding of the tradition would know that Baba could have written even a book that those who passed through Jamia Islam couldn't write. The question should therefore be bigger than, "How many books did he write?"

Some scholars leave their mark through books. Others leave it through the scholars they produce, the knowledge they transmit and the intellectual tradition they preserve. Alhaji Agba's legacy is visible in the people he directly tutored and in the quality of scholarship that came out of Zumratul Adabiyya Kamaliyya. That record speaks for itself.

Emir of Ilorin Appoints Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as Chief Imam of Ilorin

ILORIN – His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, has officially appointed Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani as the Chief Imam Fulani of Ilorin Emirate.

The appointment follows a rigorous selection process in which Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani emerged victorious among several distinguished scholars vying for this prestigious spiritual leadership position.

About the New Chief Imam

Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki, aged 42, is a grandson of the 8th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Ibrahim Dasuki Imam Fulani Agaka, and the son of the 10th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Maliki bn Dasuki Agaka.

Prior to his appointment, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir was the founder and proprietor of Darul Bisharah Arabic and Islamic Studies, Airport Egbejila, Ilorin. He also served as the Imam leading daily and weekly Jumu'ah prayers at Afsat Oloriegbe Memorial Mosque, Oko Olowo
